Guys, I have major “sad-face” today! Yesterday, TNT announced that they will not be bringing back Dallas for a fourth season:
TNT has decided not to renew Dallas. We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.

I’m pretty shocked, especially given the way season 3 ended last week. The cliffhanger with Christopher’s (Jesse Metcalfe) death is jarring, but there are quite a few story lines still open. For example, Elena (Jordana Brewster) is pregnant, and even though Nicolas (Juan Pablo Di Pace) thinks he’s that father, I think it’s actually John Ross (Josh Henderson)! And what about John Ross’ new alliance with Judith Ryland (Judith Light)?! *SIGH* I guess we’ll never know, but if we ask nicely, maybe we’ll get a few answers in the DVD/Blu-ray bonus features.
I’m sorry to see Dallas go, but I think these 3 seasons have been an excellent homage to the original series. Many thanks to the cast, crew, and production for reminding us why the Ewing’s are so damn scandalous and awesome!
