We officially launched We So Nerdy on October 1st, so technically this isn’t our first full weekly overview. However, since Wednesday so many things have gone down we would be remiss not to go over what’s been happening. First and foremost if you haven’t already entered our launch day giveaway, go and enter it here. We have some prizes from The Maze Runner, Divergent, Outlander, and much more up for grabs.
Now let’s get down to the other things we discussed this week:
October 1
The gorgeous cover reveal for Frequent Flyers, a romantic short story collection with contributions from Beth Bolden, Angel Lawson, T.M. Franklin, Kira A. Gold, Bev Elle, and Amanda Weaver which comes out on November 1. A book review of The Duchess War by Courtney Milan. The review contained some glorious flailing for a brilliant historical romance book. And The Twilight Saga is back! Stephanie Meyer and Lionsgate are teaming up with Facebook, Women In Film, and Tongal to create and manage a social media campaign to develop and produce a series of short films directed by aspiring female filmmakers. The campaign, called “The Storytellers–New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga,” will include films based on a broad spectrum of characters from the Twilight universe, with guidance provided by Meyer’s The Twilight Saga: Official Illustrated Guide.
October 2
A narrative of how one came to became obsessed with The Vampire Diaries and more importantly the spectacular ship BAMON! As well as, a plea with the production team of The Vampires Diaries to just give us Bamon NOW! Sneak peaks of the weeks episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder including videos and pictures. And a look at the Scandal inspired fashion line from collaborators Kerry Washington, Elliot Staples (head of design for The Limited), and Lyn Paolo (costume designer for Scandal) currently being sold at The Limited.
October 3
The behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Season 4 of Homeland including the trailer. A recap and review of the Season 6 premiere of The Vampire Diaries. Followed by some flails and feelings about the the first half of Season 1 of Outlander. Along with a video of a new interview where Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, and Executive Producer Ron Moore talk to TV Guide about why Jamie and Claire’s love story is so epic and the evolution of the bond between the two characters.
October 4
The sad news of TNT canceling Dallas. A full list of the new films and TV shows that will come to instant streaming services Amazon Prime Instant Video, Hulu, and Netflix for the month of October. We get to listen to the first single off the Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack, “Yellow Flicker Beat” by Lorde the curator for the soundtrack. News that Marvel announced that Guardians of the Galaxy will be available for digital download on November 18 and on DVD/Blu-ray and Video OnDemand on December 9. Top 4 TGiT TV moments from the shows Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Vampire Diaries including some great GIFs. And the announcement that TNT will bring us a Supernatural Season 9 marathon beginning on October 6 and end seconds before the Season 10 premiere on October 7.
