This past Thursday, Paul Lee, President of ABC Entertainment Group, announced that they’ve give full season orders for two of their freshman series, How to Get Away with Murder and black-ish! According to the press release:
“How to Get Away with Murder” was television’s top series debut of the season and the biggest 10 p.m. drama debut in two years in Adults 18-49. “black-ish” opened as the #2 series debut and the #1 comedy debut on television by the same metric. Additionally, “black-ish” had the best-ever viewer retention out of “Modern Family” for any comedy debut.

It’s exciting to hear that the two shows are doing well and that we’ll be able to enjoy them for months to come. According to Entertainment Weekly, How to Get Away with Murder will have 15 episodes, while black-ish will include 22 episodes.
I’ve had so much fun live tweeting during both series: black-ish is hilarious, and I find myself laughing , consistently, for 30 minutes straight. And you all you know how I feel about How to Get Away with Murder from my TGiT recaps–drama, drama, drama, but I love it!
Congrats to both casts and crews, and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds!
Make sure to watch all-new episodes of black-ish on Wednesdays at 9:30pET and How to Get Away with Murder on Thursdays at 10:00pET, both on ABC!
