Earlier today, FOX announced that they’ve ordered an additional six episodes of Gotham, taking it from a 16 to a 22 episode season! In a press release, Dana Walden and Gary Newman (Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group) spoke very highly of the television show:
“GOTHAM debuted as one of the most buzzed-about shows of the fall, and with good reason. Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon have created an incredibly rich world, with characters that draw you in and a cast that brings to life these heroes and villains in a way we’ve never seen before. We are so excited to see where Bruno, Danny and the entire GOTHAM team take this story over the course of this season, and so thankful to all the fans who have embraced it this fall.”
We’re excited too! It’s always great to hear that the shows we’re enjoying will be sticking around. And Gotham is certainly one of the best series to debut this Fall season. Gotham is tied as Monday night’s No. 1 drama among Adults 18-49, and its premiere episode was FOX’s highest-rated fall drama debut in 14 years!
Congrats to the cast and crew–we’re looking forward to learning more about the origins of these dynamic and beloved super-villains and vigilantes!
Tune in tonight for Gotham‘s all-new episode “Arkham” at 8:00pmET on FOX. Make sure to take a look at this sneak peek of episode 4, which features Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), Maroni (David Zayas), and Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) in all their villainous glory!
