Sneak peek of tonight’s two-hour special episode of Once Upon a Time, airing at 8:00pmET on ABC.
Last week’s episode of Once Upon a Time is full of both revelations and frustrations. We finally discover the history between Snow Queen/Auntie Ingrid (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Elsa (Georgina Haig)and Anna’s (Elizabeth Lail) mother. It’s so unfortunate because Helga’s (Sally Pressman) death isn’t strictly Ingrid’s fault. Incidentally, it’s hilarious to see the Duke of Weaselton (Jonathan Runyon) make an appearance, and obviously, this man has always been a cowardly and deceitful weasel. I actually end up feeling very bad for Ingrid, especially when Gerda (Pascale Hutton) asks Grand Pabbie (John Rhys-Davies) to make everyone in Arendelle forget her two sisters. I understand why Gerda takes those measures, but it seems pretty diabolical, don’t you think?
But this doesn’t excuse the Snow Queen and her manipulation of Emma (Jennifer Morrison). It’s terrible to see Emma so frustrated with her magic. It seems to me that the fear is what’s forcing the magic to manifest in such an uncontrollable way–kind of like with Elsa in Frozen. And now Emma is withdrawing from her family and friends, and even Killian (Colin O’Donoghue)! But this is exactly what the Snow Queen wants–she wants Storybrooke for herself and her exclusive new family with Emma and Elsa, and the bargain she just made with Rumple to achieve that goal seems pretty scary.
In tonight’s TWO HOUR episode, “Smash the Mirror”:
Emma isolates herself from loved ones to protect them as her powers grow uncontrollable, and she seeks help from Mr. Gold. Meanwhile, in the Arendelle of the past, the Snow Queen struggles to ignite a rivalry between Anna and Elsa. Also, Regina struggles with her plan to find the author of the storybook until her quest takes an unexpected turn. (via TV Guide and ABC)
Take a look at these clips from tonight’s show. The first video is of a flashback and we see that Elsa becomes upset with Anna as a result of the Snow Queen’s lies. In the second video, Emma goes to Rumple (Robert Carlyle) for help to control her magic after accidentally hurting Henry (Jared Gilmore):
There’s so much drama in the past and present! And the awesome thing is that we’ll have TWO FULL HOURS to watch how this all unfolds.
