Arrow’s Clock King comes to Central City and Blackout zaps Barry tonight on The Flash, season 1, episode 7, “Power Outage” airing on the CW at 8 PM ET/PT.
Last week on The Flash season 1, episode 6, “The Flash is Born,” The Flash (Grant Gustin) was pitted up against his middle school nemesis, Tony Woodward (Greg Finley). Tony during the freak storm that turned normal humans to metahumans morphed into a super strong young man, with the same bad attitude he had when he was a child and became Grider. Instead of using his super strength to help those in Central City, he went further down the rabbit hole of evil. When Grider was first pitted up against The Flash he was able to easily provide a beating to the man in red. And all the while Grider was causing mayhem in their city, Iris West (Candice Patton) was letting folks know more about The Flash. By doing so she put a bullseye on her person and Grider tracked her down and eventually kidnapped her so she could tell the world how he took down The Flash and let them know of his self-proclaimed gloriousness. In the end, The Flash with the help of his S.T.A.R. Labs crew figured the only way to take down Grider was to use his super speed and create a sonic boom punch to knock out Grider. The Flash was successful in creating the sonic punch, but it was Iris who came with the thunderous right hook to help truly take town Girder.
The Flash battles Farooq (aka Blackout), a metahuman who can harness electricity. During their fight, Farooq siphons all of the Flash’s electricity, which zaps him of his speed. Meanwhile, Tockman leads a coup inside the Central City police department and takes several people hostage, including Joe and Iris. (via TV Guide)
