Our love for Game of Thrones was too strong. HBO is breaking ground and bringing Game of Thrones to even more IMAX theatres.
As we previously posted, HBO and IMAX Corporation were blowing our minds and giving us the ultimate experience by bringing Game of Thrones to an IMAX theatre near you. However, due to the high demand of this glorious event HBO and IMAX Corporation are delaying the event by a week and increased the theatre count from 150 to an upwards of 200.
Beginning January 29, 2015 until February 5, 2015 you can see two digitally re-mastered episodes from season four (episode 9, “The Watchers on the Wall” and episode 10, “The Children”) of Games of Thrones, followed by an exclusive IMAX created sneak peek trailer for season five. Tickets for this highly anticipated event go on sale Friday, January 16, 2015 and can be purchased at www.imax.com/gameofthrones. According to the press release from HBO as of today the “confirmed cities include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, San Antonio, Seattle, Toronto and Washington, D.C., to name a few.” To find if the venue near you is having this event check the website or your local IMAX theatre. If you don’t see your theatre listed, don’t fret just yet more IMAX locations will be released in the coming days.
If seeing Game of Thrones in IMAX wasn’t enough of a treat:
The first 300 IMAX ticket holders for the Thursday night opening show time at participating IMAX theatres will receive a commemorative Game of Thrones poster from well-known illustrator Robert Ball (www.beautifuldeath.com), who designed interpretive images of the most iconic deaths in each episode.
