Oh, no, Liz can’t go! Get your sneak into tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries airing on The CW at 8 PM (ET/PT).
Last week The Vampire Diaries came back from winter hiatus with season 6, episode 11, “Woke Up with a Monster” that was directed by Paul Wesley. In this episode, Kai (Chris Wood) kidnapped Elena (Nina Dobrev) and used her body as target practice to get a handle on all that Traveler magical goodness coursing through his psychotic sexy body. Kai had Elena chained up at Mystic Falls High School and during one of his numerous moments of torturing her, he melted her daylight ring off her finger which later aided her to be able to get away from Kai to call Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to rescue her. And I guess since Bonnie (Kat Graham) is STILL stuck in prison hell maybe Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) or the other Parker twins (Liv: Penelope Mitchell and Luke: Chris Brochu) can whip her up a new one. Now back to the recap, Damon under a cloaking spell by Jo attempted to rescue Elena, only to have crossbow-carrying Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Alaric (Matthew Davis) actually be the ones to take down Kai.
Caroline (Candice Accola) was on a mission to cure her mother, Sheriff Liz Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) of cancer in “Woke Up with a Monster.” Caroline went to Duke University with Stefan (Paul Wesley) in tow to meet with a world-renowned oncologist. Stefan mostly goes on the road trip to secretly check up on his niece Sarah Salvatore (Tristin Mays) only to run into Enzo (Michael Malarkey). This leads Stefan to admit the truth that he kept Sarah’s existence from Damon. Which gets Enzo wheels rolling on a long-term plan for revenge involving Sarah. Meanwhile, Caroline compels the Duke oncologist to see if she could provide some assistance in her mother’s case. Only to find out everything Liz’s existing team of doctors were doing is the right course of treatment and her prognosis is still terminal. Caroline then decided to test out her theory that vampire blood can cure cancer on another patient. All appears well to Caroline and Stefan as they watch the patient come back to life and be a spry young man again. Since it looks like the patient has made a full recovery Caroline races home and at the same time she has convinced her mother to consume her blood, the man appears to die a horrible death alone in the hospital hallway.
