Tonight we continue into the second half of Season 5 of The Walking Dead with episode 510, “Them” airing on AMC at 9 PM (ET/PT).
Last week on The Walking Dead season 5, episode 9, ‘”What Happened and What’s Going On” that was directed by the series Executive Producer and Special Makeup Effects Supervisor Greg Nicotero, we lost another member of the group, Tyreese Williams (Chad L. Coleman). After losing Beth (Emily Kinney) in the Season 5 mid-season finale, episode 508, “Coda,” many weren’t thinking we would lose another member of the group so quickly. However, we were wrong, SO very wrong.
Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Glenn (Steven Yeun), and Tyreese travel to Richmond, VA to honor Beth’s wish to help Noah (Tyler James Williams) to hopefully reunite with his family. Upon arriving to Richmond it is instantly known that the town has been taken over and no one is present, but walkers. Noah is distraught and Tyreese attempts to comfort him while the others scavenge for supplies. Noah in his grief runs to his childhood home with Tyreese begrudgingly following. While within the home Tyreese is bitten and begins to hallucinate. These hallucinations even though there were quite sad to see, the viewers through Tyreese were reunited with Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.), The Governor (David Morrissey), Martin (Chris Coy), Lizzie Samuels (Brighton Sharbino), Mika Samuels (Kyla Kenedy), and Beth. Each person gave Tyreese a reason why he was bitten, why he should let go, or why he deserved to die. The entire time we see Tyreese bleeding out many of us were on Twitter were screaming at our screens for someone to chop off his infected arm. In the end, the gang was able to cut off his infected arm, but sadly shortly after his arm is removed, Tyreese passes.
This next death will continue to change the dynamic of the group. Michonne prior to Tyreese’s death began to have hope, Glenn on the other hand was beginning to become bitter, Rick was at a lost of what to do next when they discovered that the town in Richmond was gone. Now we have another possible threat: The town in Richmond wasn’t over taken by walkers and many of the walkers in the town and surrounded the town, were mutilated. This all points to signs of craziness and possibly more heartache for the remainder of The Walking Dead season 5.
Tonight on season 5, episode 10, “Them” that was directed by Julius Ramsay:
