Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) makes his directorial debut in tonight’s Suits! “Derailed” airs at 10:00pm ET|PT on USA Network, so get ready with with photo and video sneak peeks.
After last week’s episode of Suits (“Fork in the Road“), Harvey (Gabriel Macht), Mike (Patrick J. Adams), and Louis (Rick Hoffman) seemed to have finally put aside their differences to get on the same team!
In the half of the show we spent in the past, we learned the origins of the bad blood between Harvey and Louis. In fact, the negativity between them was really cultivated by Daniel Hardman (David Costabile), who placed them in competition with one another to acquire McKernon Motors as a client for the firm. Unfortunately, in the quest to become junior partner, both Louis and Harvey got caught up in Hardman’s manipulations.
In the other set of flashbacks, we saw that bike-messenger Mike actually had a history of lying about being a law student/lawyer! At that time, he wanted to get the attention of Claire (guest-star Troian Bellisario), a law student/legal aid intern. But later on, it looked like Mike really wanted to help her with her case and even use this as an opportunity to make a change and go back to school. Sadly, Mike’s lie was exposed and, feeling discouraged, he turned to his friend Trevor (Tom Lipinski) who, as we’ve seen, was not really a good friend to have.
*sidenote* It was great to see Grammy (Rebecca Schull) again! And speaking of seeing someone again, now that we’ve met Claire, I’m really curious to if we’ll see her again in the present. I mean, I assume she graduated from law school and is practicing somewhere in the city. Could be potentially cause a problem for Mike?
In the present, Harvey tricked Louis and Mike into taking a road-trip with him to the McKernon Motors headquarters. After a lot of bickering, name-calling, and a physical fight (INSANE), Louis and Mike were able to move beyond the deadlock. For me, the best moment was when Louis said to Mike, “You’re not a fraud, Mike. You just never went to law school.” *BEAMING* And now that the two were partners on the McKernon Motors account and Louis had even promised to help teach Mike to drive, we finished “Fork in the Road” on a very positive note.
In tonight’s episode “Derailed,” Patrick J. Adams’ directorial debut and guest-starring Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and Michael Harney (Orange is the New Black):
Mike takes on a humanitarian case that could jeopardize firm business; Jessica wrestles with maintaining distance between herself and Jeff Malone; and Louis fights for the respect a name partner deserves. (via TV Guide)
Just when we think things are getting better, apparently Pearson/Specter/Litt isn’t out of the woods yet. Take a look at these photo stills from the upcoming show. It looks like Stephen Macht might be guest-starring again as Professor Gerard…I wonder what he and Mike are talking about?
And in the promo for “Derailed,” (which you can see below), it seems that we’ll be spending time with Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and learning about a mistake she made…?
Don’t miss the directoral debut of @halfadams in one of the season’s most tense episodes, Wed at 10/9c. https://t.co/Ub0cSS1Mcn
