Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) gives us a preview of the bonus content on the Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 blu-ray, available starting tomorrow (Tuesday, March 3).
Happy March Sassenachs! Besides being about two days away from the final ‘4 Droughtlander‘ and one month away from Outlander Season 1B’s premiere, we’re also ONE DAY away from being able to get our hands on the Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 DVD/Blu-ray! Have you pre-ordered your copy yet? If you’ll recall from a previous post, the blu-ray has exclusive content, like 21 deleted scenes and six (new) featurettes–including one called Walk Through the Sets and Stages with Ronald D. Moore.
Well yesterday, a very gorgeously bearded Sam Heughan shared a clip from this behind-the-scenes look at Outlander with Ron Moore. In the video (which you can watch below), Ron talks about the weaponry on the show—muskets, pistols, and a full selection of swords and shields manufactured expressly for the show. He also introduces us to Jim Elliot, Outlander‘s armourer, who talks us through the process of aging the newly created weapons. Check it out:
WOW, this just adds to the level of authenticity that we love so much about Outlander, don’t you think? And of course JAMMF (Sam Heughan) looks so good wielding those weapons… well, if I’m being honest, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) looks pretty fierce with a pistol in her hand too!
If you haven’t done so already, go HERE to get more information about all the bonus features on Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 and how to order yours.
Remember, there’s also a Limited Collector?s Edition of the Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 blu-ray, that includes a 32-page book filled with photographs, excerpts from Outlander scripts, and an introduction from author Diana Gabaldon. And if that isn’t enough, if you order the Limited Collectors Edition from Target, you’ll also get a collectible lenticular!
