My Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
*Non-Spoiler Portion of the Review*
Elizabeth Banks did triple duty in Pitch Perfect 2 she reprised her role as Gail, was a producer on the film, and she made her directorial debut. Ms. Banks was up for the task of these jobs and then some. The film had a bigger budget, more elaborate numbers, and a significantly larger cast. Sadly, it didn’t bring the complete goodness like Pitch Perfect.
Sure the film had many of the elements that most enjoyed in Pitch Perfect, like the crass jokes, the amazing vocals, a story line that revolved around amazing women, and well, Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson). However, the need to be even funnier than the first film I believe was a determinant to Pitch Perfect 2.
Regardless, if you need a bit of fun in your weekend and/or were a fan of Pitch Perfect then I say make sure to see Pitch Perfect 2 this weekend.
The cast of Pitch Perfect 2 includes Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld,
Brittany Snow, Skylar Astin, Adam DeVine, Katey Sagal, Anna Camp, Ben Platt, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Flula Borg, Kelley Jakle, Shelley Regner, with Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins.

The Barden Bellas are back to pitch slap the world in Pitch Perfect 2, the follow-up
to 2012’s runaway global hit about a group of lovable misfits with only one thing in
common: the irresistible way they sound when they’re seamlessly mixed together,
mashed-up and arranged like never before. It’s been three years since the Bellas brought their signature vocals, style and attitude to become the first all-female group to win a national title. But when they get banned after a scandal that threatens to derail their last year at Barden, the three-time defending champs worry that this time they’ve lost their harmony for good.
With just one chance left at redeeming their legacy, the Bellas must fight for their right to win the World Championships of A Cappella in Copenhagen. And as they struggle to balance the pressures of musical domination with senior angst, it will take the power of sisterhood to find their voice and see what it takes to be the world’s top pitches.
