Tonight Power returns for season 2 and from all accounts, it’s going to be an intense premiere episode! If you’ll recall, by the end of season 1, Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) found out that Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) was a federal prosecutor and became extremely suspicious of what Ghost (James St. Patrick, Omari Hardwick) may/may not be hiding.
We also discovered that the threats to Ghost’s drug distribution were moves by Kanan (50 Cent), who wanted to reclaim the enterprise he helped to build. Unfortunately for Ghost, Kanan was now out of prison and ready to permanently remove his old friend from the picture. And as far as the legitimate business, Ghost’s night club TRUTH, came under attack when he was almost killed in a murder attempt…Tommy’s girlfriend, Holly (Lucy Walters), was killed instead.
Ultimately, Ghost’s two double-lives have bled into one another. As creator Courtney Kemp Agboh and Lela Loren said in this Season 1 recap, season 2 is all about consequences. And as we begin, there are several important questions:
“Will Ghost leave Tasha? Can Tasha, who knows of her husband’s infidelity, but is an accomplice in his drug dealing, bring down his operation? What will Kanan do, now that he’s out of prison? How will Tommy react to Holly’s murder? Will Angela find out about Ghost and Tommy and if she does, how will she react, given her professed love for James? Will Ghost and Tommy find out about Kanan’s deception?” (via The Jamaica Observer)
Ghost picks up the pieces at TRUTH after the botched murder attempt against him, while redoubling his commitment to the drug game. He has to do this without assistance from Tommy, who’s gone missing after learning that Angela’s a federal prosecutor. Ghost turns to Tasha for support, but soon discovers that the club shooting is the least of his problems. (via STARZ)
Take a look at this clip from the upcoming show (“Coquette”) where Simon Stern (Victor Garber), who’s been trying to eliminate Ghost as a business rival, reveals that he’s now the owner of TRUTH’s building:
Wow…Mr. Stern is having *way* too much fun sticking it to Ghost like that. And besides potentially losing his club, we know Ghost has several other things to be concerned about.
Check out this first look at tonight’s episode as we see the Latina woman who was meant to shoot Ghost takes off running. Afterwards, see 30+ images from Power‘s second season and make sure you tune into STARZ at 9:00pm tonight for the new episode!
