Penny Dreadful fans rejoice, Showtime has announced that our beloved show has been renewed for a third season.
Dreadfuls/DemDreads fans Showtime has renewed the BAFTA Award-winning drama and critically-acclaimed series Penny Dreadful for a third season. Production for Season 3 will begin this fall in Dublin, Ireland.
Penny Dreadful was created, written, and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan. Season 2 is currently airing and the cast includes Josh Hartnett as Ethan Chandler, Timothy Dalton as Sir Malcolm Murray, Eva Green as Vanessa Ives, Danny Sapani as Sembene, Harry Treadaway as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Billie Piper as Brona Croft/Lily, Reeve Carney as Dorian Gray, Rory Kinnear as John Clare/The Creature, and Helen McCrory as Evelyn Poole. Penny Dreadful Season 2 will air its season finale on July 5 at 10/9c.
Penny Dreadful second season has found Vanessa Ives and Ethan Chandler forming a deeper bond as the group, including Sir Malcolm, Dr. Frankenstein, and Sembene, unite to banish the evil forces that threaten to destroy them. Meanwhile, Dorian Gray and the Creature are all waging battles of their own. (via Showtime)
