Relativity Studios shares the official trailer for upcoming film Masterminds, starring Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, and Jason Sudeikis.
Jared Hess’ action-comedy Masterminds is breaking into theaters this August, and earlier this week, Relativity Studios shared the film’s official trailer. Watch as Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, and Jason Sudeikis have a crazy adventure and get into serious trouble when their get-rich-quick heist goes all wrong:
“GET STUPID RICH.”
Surely, David Ghantt is the most incompetent bank robber we’ve ever seen, but Zach Galifianakis is hilarious. Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis are equally funny, but their characters are a bit more menacing (and murderous!). And even though Kristen Wiig is only meant to be “bait”, she definitely brings more to the team.
According to Yahoo! Movies, Masterminds is based on a real-life story of a bank robbery in the 1990s: The Loomis Fargo Robbery in North Carolina — also known as the Hillbilly Heist — was the second largest cash theft on U.S. soil at the time. It’s also arguably the funniest one in history as it was filled with comical missteps by a group of mostly rookie criminals.
Masterminds hits theaters on August 19th, 2015, and you can learn more about the movie by following their official accounts:
