Laura Kaye shares the summary and new cover for Love in the Light, companion to her 2011 erotic romance novella Hearts in Darkness, coming January 12, 2016.
Back in February 2012 (after spending almost three years bingeing exclusively on Twilight fanfiction), I started to make a transition back into reading original fiction. After some coaxing from friends, I signed up for a Goodreads account and started sifting through suggestions from fellow romance lovers. Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye was one of the very first novel/las I tried (and LOVED)!
If you’re not familiar with the story, it follows Caden Grayson and Makenna James, two strangers who are stuck together in an elevator when it breaks down. Over the course of a several, intense hours, Caden and Makenna get to know one another and develop an emotional and physical intimacy that’s potent and incredibly sexy.
My exact reaction when I first read Hearts in Darkness was: “A whole lot of sweetness and sexy times packed in this little piece. Very well written and the characters are surprisingly well developed…I enjoyed this a lot!”
Of course 112 pages wasn’t enough, and since then, I’ve always wondered if Laura might consider sharing with us what happens to Caden and Makenna when they attempt to build a relationship in the real world.
Well, she recently announced her plans to make Hearts in Darkness into a duet, and the companion novel Love in the Light will be released January 12, 2016! Thanks to Laura and InkSlinger PR, we have the summary and cover to share. Check it out below:
Two hearts in the darkness…
Makenna James and Caden Grayson have been inseparable since the day they were trapped in a pitch-black elevator and found acceptance and love in the arms of a stranger. Makenna hopes that night put them on the path to forever—which can’t happen until she introduces her tattooed, pierced, and scarred boyfriend to her father and three over-protective brothers.
Must fight for love in the light…
Haunted by a childhood tragedy and the loss of his family, Caden never thought he’d find the love he shares with Makenna. But the deeper he falls, the more he fears the devastation sure to come if he ever lost her, too. When meeting her family doesn’t go smoothly, Caden questions whether Makenna deserves someone better, stronger, and just more…normal. Maybe they’re too different—and he’s far too damaged—after all…
Oh goodness, I can already anticipate the angst and drama and I’m so excited! And can we talk about got HOT that cover is?! *SHIVERS*
