Mama Ruby has a new man and Dre isn’t very happy about it! Get a sneak peek of tonight’s black-ish, airing at 9:31pm ET|PT on ABC.
Since black-ish has returned from a brief Winter break, we’re learning all about new relationships. Meeting Dre’s life-long BFF Gigi (guest-star Tyra Banks) last week (“Plus Two Isn’t a Thing“) was fantastic. It was funny how similar Dre and Gigi were: from their TV-watching habits, love of 5 hour mani-pedis, and even throwing shade in Vietnamese! It made sense that Bow would be a little jealous of being the third wheel, but ultimately Dre and Bow decided that they would never be *that couple* who are also best friends… and that’s OK!
In tonight’s show, we see that Mama Ruby is focussing on a new relationship too. She’s with a new boyfriend in tow, and it shouldn’t surprise us that Dre has some difficulty not being the main man in his mom’s life! Check out the synopsis for “Old Digger” (written by Steven White and directed by Linda Mendoza) below:
DRE AND BOW MEET THE NEW MAN IN RUBY’S LIFE, AND DRE FINDS ANY REASON TO DISLIKE HIM WHILE JUNIOR MEETS A GIRL ON A DATING SITE—Dre has never had a problem with Pops dating, but when it comes to Ruby, he won’t let anyone come between them. When Ruby invites Dre and Bow to meet the new man in her life, Dre immediately goes on the defensive and finds any reason to dislike him. Once Pops learns that Ruby’s suitor is the real deal, he comes up with a plan to distract her. Meanwhile, Junior meets a girl on a dating site, and Zoey, Jack and Diane convince him he’s being scammed, so they devise a plan to meet “the girl” in person. (via ABC)
Watch a clip from the upcoming episode (via a Hypable exclusive) where Dre and Pops commiserate over how much the kids love Ruby’s new man (Davis). Ultimately they decide that Davis has to go and Pop’s has just the plan to make it happen:
The “South African krugerrand”? Pops is really pulling out the big guns! But something tells me that Mama Ruby won’t be seduced that easily, LOL!
