The Liv/Mellie dream team continues their book prep; plus, it looks like Fitz might have a new lady friend! Get a sneak peek of tonight’s Scandal, airing at 9:00pm ET|PT.
Last week’s Winter Premiere of Scandal (“It’s Hard Out Here for a General“) still has me scratching my head with so many questions!
Truthfully, I don’t even think I know who Olivia Pope is anymore. Six months have gone by, she’s still the infamous woman who is recognized in public as the President’s former mistress. She’s still a badass chief of OPA, kicking bootie for her clients. But at the same time, Liv has changed.
Now, all of a sudden, she can have a lovely night out with her father. And let’s not forget about all the hate-sex with Jake. In fact, this rekindled, familial relationship between Liv, Papa Pope, and Jake is particularly disturbing because they all clamoring to get their hands back in the White House pie. Jake in all his B613 glory is the new head of the CIA (via Papa Pope’s instruction). But interestingly, when Liv decides she wants to return to the seat of power, she doesn’t go back to Fitz. No, she agrees to Mellie’s new presidential campaign manager.
Speaking of Fitz, his entire situation is making me upset! While I enjoy seeing him try to make Abby his work-wife (which backfires), Fitz is still being manipulated, this time by Jake. All the while, Cyrus stands aside, and Fitz won’t even take Liv’s phone calls. He’s completely alone, and that’s not the best position for POTUS to be in.
In any event, I’m really excited to learn more about Mellie’s new tell-all book. I’m also curious about whether Mama Pope is going to show up to join this new family.
Thanks to ABC (via Scandal’s official twitter account), we can recap all the OMG moments from last week’s show:

In tonight’s episode “The Candidate” (written by Mark Fish and directed by Allison Liddi Brown) we can expect the following:
Mellie seeks out Olivia’s help but may not be prepared for what that entails, and Liz tries to convince Susan Ross to run for the presidency. Meanwhile, Abby and Cyrus are at odds when a profile piece on Fitz comes into question (via ABC)
Everyone is always scheming and this week, even Elizabeth North. Does this mean we’ll get more of the Lizzie/David/Susan triangle? Plus, Liv is still trying to help Mellie write a more compelling book. In the first sneak peek below, we see some of the conversation the new dream time. And in a second clip (courtesy of an Entertainment Weekly exclusive) it looks like Fitz might be moving on from both his former ladies:

“When Fitz was screwing another woman, you didn’t seem to care and we want to know why.”
WOWSA, Liv is telling the whole truth because that’s the story I want to hear too! But is Mellie really willing to lay everything bare like that?
And even though we can definitely see some sparks between Fitz and Lillian Forrester, I don’t want him in a new romance! With that said, it will be interesting to see her account of his last months in office.
“The Candidate” airs tonight at 9:00pm ET|PT on ABC. Make sure to tune in and come live tweet with us (@WeSoNerdy)!
