Have you missed the Harry Potter universe? Well, it’s time to go back! Here’s the news on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them featuring Newt Scamander!
I love everything about Harry Potter. The world J.K. Rowling created has been a part of my life since I was twelve years old, and I grew up with the Golden Trio. Needless to say, when I found out that a movie was being made based on one of the textbooks mentioned in the Harry Potter series, I flipped. Then hearing about the amazing casting choices? I knew it was going to be stellar.
You should really take a look for yourself!
Without further ado, I give you BOTH trailers and the official summary and poster for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will hit theaters November 18, 2016.
OH MY GOSH!! Did you hear the theme music?! Did you see Newt’s awesome suitcase? And hello there, Colin Farrell. What do you think about the trailer? I’ll be in my corner fangirling and trying to figure out how they seemed to take magic and make it more magical.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is directed by David Yates and stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina, Dan Fogler as Jacob, Alison Sudol as Tina’s sister, Queenie, Ezra Miller as Credence, Samantha Morton as Mary Lou, Jon Voight as Henry Shaw, Sr., Ron Perlman as Gnarlack, Carmen Ejogo as Seraphina, Jenn Murray as Chastity, Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty, and Colin Farrell as Percival Graves.
The film marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling. Her script was inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by her character Newt Scamander.
Warner Bros. Pictures has slated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for worldwide release in 2D and 3D in select theaters and IMAX on November 18, 2016. (via Warner Bros.)
