Outlander delivered a suspenseful turn with “Vengeance is Mine” tonight. Here are some thoughts I had watching this intense episode!
It seems the closer we get to Culloden the more bad things are happening. ‘Vengeance is Mine’ gave us some closure to events that happened in Paris, though! For the full recap, take a look HERE!
We have to perfume the wig.
Sounds like the Jacobites are on a roll, but we all know what’s coming.
Wait. Charles wants to storm London?
This won’t work, Charles. Even the two guys that always fight are agreeing.
Wait. Jamie, what are you doing?! Does he think he’ll stop Culloden if he gets to London?
I can’t deal with this stress.
Claire is pulling teeth. Oh my gawd.
Rupert is talking about Angus and my heart is broken.
I’m that little boy not waiting to go to dentist.
These men looking at Charles talking about this “divine gift” from God and are like:
Of course Jamie will stand with him. Super.
I’m still waiting for MARK ME.
Murtagh is paying extra close attention to Claire. I wonder why…
Charles has had enough of y’all. He’s not stopping.
Jamie and Claire affection!! I’ve been missing this so much.
Ohhhh, it was a Jamie/Claire plan for avoiding Culloden.
Home. For winter. <--- Jamie, they aren't stupid. All Rupert can see is the death of a friend that seems to be in vain.
“And, you, Sassensch, I’ll see you safe no matter what happens.”
Jamie’s speaking Gaelic.
“God shield my beloved, my white dove. And the child she may one day bear. Preserve her from violence and from harm. In this place and every place. On this night and on every night.”
This is too much closure and my heart can’t take it.
Well, here comes the devil. I mean, Dougal.
Jamie was exiled?!? WHOA.
This sounds shady as hell. Charles liked Jamie a lot.
The stones are at Inverness! Don’t go there! What’s this?!?
Rupert is really broken up about Angus. This poor man.
What about the guys left behind?
Rupert. Oh, this is horrible.
Thank God for Dougal.
His eye is completely gone. This is giving me TWD Carl feels.
Someone is inside, Jamie.
Hey! It’s Ross!
“What happened to him?”
“I decided to take a closer look at a musket ball.”
Rupert still has jokes.
Claire is incredible and I’m amazed by her strength every episode.
Redcoats with fire and they have their horses???
They’re burn them out.
*repeats* This isn’t Culloden. They won’t die.
*different part of my brain* YEAH. Jamie and Claire won’t! What about the others?!?
Someone find a secret passage! There’s always a secret passage!
WHAT THE HELL, JAMIE!?
“Boy, stop being such a hero.” <-- I'm Dougal. Hell froze over. Claire is pulling the English card again. Jamie just hit Dougal and Murtagh even agrees with Claire.
“Am I not Lady Broch Turach? Are these men not my responsibility, too?”
Of course Dougal is front and center.
This red coat knows the reputation of Highlanders?
Jamie’s telling Claire to look less guilty. HA!
I don’t want them separated right now.
Even Jamie can’t take her outside. This is messed up.
Stop mouthing, Dougal.
Great. They have no horses and no weapons.
“When ya find her. Give her a wink for me, okay?” Awww, Fergus.
I just don’t know. All these Dougal shots have me feeling like he’s up to something, to be honest.
Jamie has a wanted poster!! I wonder if he’ll complaint about it like Flynn Rider?
Random red coat, go away with your horrible lines.
Belmont? A rich Englishman? I don’t want to see anybody from the past pop up.
YASSSS! Claire found an ally in Monroe!
The Duke of Sandringham. FML.
He’s internally dancing right now.
“Rescued? Rescued from what? Rabid bears?”
“Much the same thing.”
Even with all this Jamie is still happy he married Claire.
The Duke loves gossip so much.
He only has one servant because things are a bit “tight”. SURE.
Wow. He went to the tower for supporting the Jacobites?
Sandringham just threw shade about their bright red coats and I AM DEAD.
Her “dashing” husband. Sandringham has such a crush on Jamie.
He wants to run away with Claire! LOLZZ NO.
SO. MUCH. SASS.
She’s writing in Gaelic! Keep it secret, Claire.
Mary is here! Where’s BJR?! He’s not here, right?? Oh, okay. She’s engaged to someone else.
I’m telling you. The more I think about it, the more I think Claire’s time travel is responsible for everything.
Monroe is like this feral mountain man.
Sandringham, you’re up to something.
His servant attached them in Paris! Claire, kill this man!
This bullshit here.
He wants the gossip about St. Germain’s death? During all this drama? Of course, he does.
“Rape was sufficient revenge for the loss of his goods.”
I CANNOT. #PetitionToStopRapeAsAPlotDevice2016
This servant is threatening her AGAIN?
This is all a trap. I quit. I quit everything.
Claire, you can totally kill him. You know you’ve got it in you.
Please tell me Claire told Jamie something important.
“She’s even misspelled help.” Murtagh, give her lessons later.
She’s going to bust Mary out?
C’mon, Mary! (BJR will be so awful to her.)
Claire needs an invisibility cloak.
I have a bad feeling.
Yup, there Sandringham is.
He STILL wants to know about St. Germain. He’s like a dog with a bone.
Sandringham took that knife…LOL He knows what Claire’s about.
You go tell Monroe, Mary! You can do it!
I need this rapist servant to get what’s coming to him.
Jamie is such a badass.
SERIOUSLY? Sandringham is STILL on about this?
Sandringham, “GO TO BED!”
He struggled to put on his wig for Jamie.
That servant just signed his death warrant. Jamie won’t let this slide.
“This is the man who attacked us in Paris!”
Mary looks like she’s plotting something.
Mary’s going to kill someone.
Jamie ripped off his wig! BWAHAHAHAHA!
SHE DID IT!!
Murtagh just chopped off Sandringham’s head.
“I kept my word. I lay your vengeance at your feet.”
BEST MOMENT OF THE EPISODE.
