While Rumple takes action to save Gideon from himself, Emma tries to figure out what Killian is hiding from her. Get a sneak peek of tonight’s Once Upon a Time.

Oncers, I’m still not over last week’s episode and everything that was revealed.
“Murder Most Foul” followed two major stories and two timelines, and by the end, left me feeling so frustrated.
After a series of visions of his dead father, David was determined to find out how his father really died. For so long, he believed his Dad was a irresponsible man who drank himself to death, but was there more to learn?
As David pursued the truth in Storybrooke, we flashed back to Fairy Tale Land. David and James’ mother and father were facing extreme poverty and could not afford a medicine to help the twins, who were sick. Perhaps it shouldn’t surprise us that in their desperation, Rumple showed up. In exchange for providing the medication, he wanted one of the boys to give to King George as his son. Ruth wanted to refuse, but it was Robert who decided to accept Rumple’s deal. Rumple flipped a coin, and James would become prince.
Over time, we saw that the decision really weighed on Robert, who did turn to the drink to soothe his guilt. Several years later, while at the bar, Robert learned that James was abducted from home and King George wanted help to find him. Robert realized this was his chance at redemption. He would find James and bring him back home to his true family. When Robert went to Rumple for help finding James, we learned that the boy had run away from home to Pleasure Island. (That bit of information cost Robert one hair from his head… but what did Rumple want with that?!) In any event, Robert went to Pleasure Island and after an exchange with Pinocchio, located James. Robert promised James to bring him home with him to the farm.
Robert and James made their escape, and when they went back to King George, Robert demanded his son back. Unfortunately, King George wasn’t sympathetic. He gave his guards the reward for finding James and ordered them to kill Robert. The guards took a very sober Robert into the woods, poured alcohol on him, so it would look like he got drunk, crashed his cart, and killed himself…
In the present, with Killian’s help, David eventually learned of King George’s involvement. David went to the prison where George was being held and would have killed him if not for Killian. There had to be a better way to protect their family. Soon after, David reflected on now knowing the truth and was able to let his father’s memory go. At that time, Killian asked for David’s blessing to marry Emma, which David wholeheartedly gave. (*EXCITE* Come to me CaptainSwan wedding!!!)
But we should have known things wouldn’t be this simple… we flashed back to the past one more time and saw that Captain Hook actually interceded and killed King George’s guards before they could harm Robert. But then Hook took the reward treasure and killed Robert anyway. (*CRIES* What in the world are we going to do now?!)
Interestingly, Regina and Alternate Robin didn’t fare much better his episode. Robin was having a hard time settling into life in Storybrooke, and Regina didn’t know how to help him. Should she tell Robin that he kind of had a son and daughter? After Regina stopped Robin from killing Nottingham/Keith in revenge, she did tell Robin about his children and tried to convince him to let go of the past and make a new start. Regina and Robin shared a kiss… but from her face, you could tell that the old OutlawQueen spark wasn’t there.
In tonight’s Once Upon a Time, we’re back to the impending threat of Gideon… in “Ill-boding Patterns” (written by Andrew Chambliss and Dana Horgan, directed by Ron Underwood):
GOLD TAKES ACTION TO PROTECT GIDEON FROM THE TAINT OF DARK MAGIC, AND EMMA LEARNS THAT HOOK IS HIDING SOMETHING FROM HER, WHILE ROBIN AND ZELENA FORM A DANGEROUS ALLIANCE—When Gideon resumes his mission to kill Emma and become the Savior, Mr. Gold steps in to ensure that the use of dark magic does not poison his son. Meanwhile, Robin proves willing to ally himself with anyone offering the possibility of escape from Regina and Storybrooke. Hook gathers the courage to come clean to Emma, but not before she discovers he’s been keeping a secret. And in a flashback to Fairy Tale Land, the legendary folk hero Beowulf sets his sights on Rumplestiltskin after the Dark One uses his powers to defeat the ogres and win the war for humanity. In the first sneak peek from the upcoming show, we flash back to the First Ogre War and meet Beowulf in the midst of battle. And in the second clip, we see that Alternate Robin has a secret plan that he’s hiding from Regina:

Regina is so sincere in her desire to help Robin and it seems like he just wants to manipulate her. I really don’t like this! Also, I’m wondering about Beowulf’s connection to Rumple. Finally, I really want Killian to tell Emma the truth about David’s father, but I’m nervous about the consequences. What do you think?
