STARZ debuts the second Outlander Season 3 trailer ahead of this week’s Comic-Con panel. Let’s share our flails!

I know many of us Sassenachs are looking forward to the goodies that are sure to come from this week’s Outlander panel at San Diego Comic-Con. However, ahead of this weeks’s events, STARZ released a new Season 3 trailer today, and, as we can imagine, Claire and Jamie living separate lives is tough to watch.
The trailer begins soon after Bree is born. Frank brings the baby to Claire and you can tell that this is meant to be a new beginning for the two of them. Claire and Frank have left Europe, and now in Boston, they can finally start their family. We get images throughout Bree’s childhood, and Frank is a doting father, something Claire appreciates. However, Frank still feels a lot of resentment because it’s clear that Claire is still stuck in 1740 with Jamie Fraser. Despite the discord, we see that Claire thrives professionally.
Meanwhile, Jamie returns home from the war only to have his sister Jenny turn him over to the Redcoats (this might be slightly different from the books, where Jamie willingly turns himself in so that his family can benefit from the reward/bounty money). We see Jamie interacting with Lord John Grey, telling him a little about Claire. We also get a glimpse of the scene with Jamie and Geneva Dunsany at the Helwater estate *angry sigh*
Yet, eventually, we’re brought back to the aftermath of Roger and Bree telling Claire that Jamie survives Culloden and their search for records of Jamie’s life. This undoubtedly brings Bree and Roger closer together…
So when I first watched the trailer, I stopped after the Outlander logo and the premiere date… not knowing that the juiciest part of the trailer was yet to come. Claire is back in 1760s Edinburgh, approaching the A. Malcolm Printshop, checking her appearance, and then opening the door to the shop. The bell rings, and… *FLAILS* I can’t wait!
Now that we’ve gotten a new trailer, I wonder what we’re in for after the SDCC panel on Friday…?
