Star Wars fans have been not-so-patiently waiting for the release of the official trailer for The Last Jedi, and it’s finally here! With the film’s release a little over two months away, this has us needing December now. Take a look at the trailer below!

Last night, the official trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped and suddenly there was silence…
But the good kind, not the destroyed planet kind. Then there were tons and tons of flails. Take a look here!
Disney chose to hold this trailer for a while, especially considering the film’s December release date. I can only imagine that they did this due to the untimely passing of Carrie Fisher, who plays our beloved General Organa.
This trailer is taking us on a freaking emotional journey. We see that Rey does train, at least some, with Luke Skywalker. However, he tells her that he’s seen the kind of power she has before.
“It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.”
We know that the power he’s talking about belonged to his father, Darth Vader. We also know from the previous film that Rey has a visceral connection and moment with Luke’s lightsaber…
So who is Rey? How does she have such strong ties to the force and who in the world are her parents?
On the other side of the battle is Kylo Ren, AKA Ben Solo. Although, let’s be very clear, I don’t think he deserves to go by the name Solo or Ben, to be completely honest. Y’all know what we did…and what the trailer alludes to. It seems like Kylo will be killing his mother, too.
Leia looks on, standing very tall and strong, as Kylo flies his fighter towards their ship. You can hear Kylo talking:
“Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. That’s the only way to become what you were meant to be.”
I know that Carrie Fisher’s death was sudden, and she was supposed to play a major role in Episode 9, but I really hope they were able to give her a better death than her son killing her as well. Seeing as I don’t know the context yet, I’ll reserve judgement on this.
Later in the trailer, Rey is saying that she needs someone to show her what her place is in all this, and at first, I was thinkings he was talking to Luke because WHY WOULD SHE TALK TO ANYONE ELSE? But BAM, it’s Kylo Ren, or at least appears that way.
We don’t need this in our lives, so let’s move on.
Finally, we see Fin and Poe again! They’re both fighting, Poe in his X-Wing Fighter and Fin is taking on Captain Phasma in hand-to-hand combat! Who is ready for that fight?
My last and very important question is: Will Luke and Leia be reunited?
I won’t lie, I need this. We know that Luke is the last Jedi and after his extended absence, a meeting with his sister would be incredible.
It’s a good thing we have the trailer to hold us over as well as BTS video. You know the one I’m talking about. It gave us this incredible gif that makes our hearts ache.
Oh, and there is a Porg on board the Millennium Falcon with Chewie!! AHHHH, look how precious!
Tell us what you’re looking forward to and what you hope happens in Star Wars: The Last Jedi! Go ahead and order your tickets now! You know this one is going to be a huge hit.
