We can all agree that Lin-Manuel Miranda is a blessing and we truly don’t deserve him, but he continually gives us incredible work. He delivered some awesome news this morning, and you can find out more about The #Hamildrops below!
Earlier today, Lin-Manuel Miranda announced that while another Hamilton Mixtape may not be in the works, he does plan to still release songs from Hamilton that didn’t make the cut, and he’s giving us these gifts once a month for the next year!
That’s right, starting tonight at midnight through December 2018 there will be one new Hamilton song a month!
Pardon me because…
Hamilton brightened up my world when I was introduced to it, and Lin continues to inspire me on a daily basis. He uses his platform and fame for such incredible causes, and I appreciate how outspoken he is when it comes to his beliefs and convictions.
This new set of #Hamildrops is another way that Lin is going to help make the world a little brighter in 2018.
So, what’s the first song up on this monthly party?
The Decemberist will be taking on “Ben Franklin’s Song”! Take a look at Lin’s tweets that explain the process!
So today, we begin THE HAMILDROPS. We’re gonna drop some new Hamilton content, every month, December NOW through December 2018.

So I sent the lyrics to @ColinMeloy. He's in @TheDecemberists.

And HE set it to music as only he and his crew can.
It absolutely blew me away.
I weent BACK to write new lyrics for a bridge for him.— Lin-Manuel Miranda (@Lin_Manuel) December 14, 2017
He took it to @TheDecemberists & they brought Ben Franklin to life.

This is really awesome because the only time Franklin is mentioned is once in the Hamilton Mixtape in terms of abolishing slavery in “Cabinet Battle 3”. I can’t wait to hear this new song, and I’ll be looking forward to each new treat as 2018 progresses!
Thank you, Lin! #bitofday #AToastToLin
