In the first Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again trailer we get a glimpse of Young Donna’s life when she first arrives in Greece. Spoiler alert: there’s even more singing, dancing, laughing, and love!
Guess what my fellow dancing queens (and kings)?! The first trailer for the Mamma Mia sequel was released today and we’re going back to the magical Greek island of Kalokairi for an all-new original musical based on the ever-captivating songs of ABBA.
In Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and Sky (Dominic Cooper) are reunited with family and expecting a new addition of their own. Meanwhile, through flashbacks, we get to learn all about when Donna first arrives on Kalokairi as a young woman and the origins of all our fave relationships. Meryl Streep will reprise her role as Donna, while Lily James (Downton Abbey, Cinderella) plays the role of Young Donna (and totally slays with the vocals, BTW)!
Julie Walters returns as Rosie, Christine Baranski as Tanya, while Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård and Colin Firth are back as Sophie’s three dads: Sam, Bill and Harry. *EXCITE* And filling the roles of Young Rosie and Young Tanya are Alexa Davies and Jessica Keenan Wynn. Young Sam is played by Jeremy Irvine, while Young Bill is Josh Dylan and Young Harry is Hugh Skinner.
Did you guys catch that surprise at the end?! Oh yes, that blonde bombshell playing Sophie’s grandmother (Donna’s mother) is Cher!!!
I’m so ready to sing, dance, laugh, and fall in love all over again. As another treat, check out this behind-the-scenes featurette with several fun moments from set, leading up to the the film’s wrap, just this week:
