Watch Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode in the first trailer for the upcoming series A Discovery of Witches, adapted from our fave Deb Harkness’ bestselling series!

Now THIS is how you start off Monday! This morning Sky One released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming series A Discovery of Witches, based on Deborah Harkness’ fantasy novel.
Teresa Palmer stars as Diana Bishop, a historian and witch, who, while doing research at Oxford’s Bodleian Library, comes across an esoteric text. It turns out that this manuscript is the secret to understanding the demise of supernatural creatures and Diana is the only person to have handled the book in years. As a result, she finds herself caught in the crosshairs of some very dangerous magical creatures (witches, vampires, and daemons). Diana finds an unlikely ally in Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode), a 1,500 year old vampire and geneticist. They investigate the secrets of the origins of each species–secrets that many don’t want them to uncover. In the process, Diana and Clairmont begin a forbidden romance of their own. I’m telling you, the entire All Souls Trilogy owns me! I adore this series so much and have been dying for the TV-adaptation. The trailer has me extremely excited and embodies all the things I love about the books: intelligent writing, captivating mystery, and the juicy romance between Diana and Clairmont! Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode have chemistry that sizzles right off the screen. Plus, Diana’s charm, strength, and intelligence shine through, along with Clairmont’s charisma… so swoony, so thoroughly Alpha, but has a darkness about him, too. *EEEEEP*
We know that the series is “Coming Soon” to the UK, but has yet to find a home in the U.S. I’m very hopeful that we’ll be getting news about that soon, as well. Stay tuned to We So Nerdy because we’ll bring you that news as soon as we have it!
