Starz released the official trailer for Outlander‘s fourth season, along with several episode and BTS images! Let’s discuss what adventures are coming up for the Frasers in the New World.

[Some Spoilers!!!]
Sassenachs, it’s been a long summer, but it ends with some amazing news: Outlander will officially be back for Season 4 on Sunday, November 4, starting at 8:00pm ET|PT!
The news came with the first full trailer of the new season and new Claire/Jamie character posters, giving us a look at how they’ll “Brave the New World.” If you’ll recall from the end of Season 3, Jamie, Claire, and co. find themselves in the American colonies. They make their way to North Carolina, where Jamie’s Aunt, Jocasta Cameron (Maria Doyle Kennedy) has a plantation, River Run, and hosts the Frasers for some time. In the trailer, we see the opulence of that high society living. But we also observe Claire’s immediate and vocal aversion to the enslavement of Black people (in the late 1760s, this is the heyday of slavery in the American South). In an effort to chart their own path to the American Dream and make their own rules, Jamie and Claire leave River Run to head further west. They establish their own homestead, Fraser’s Ridge.
However, we know that trouble seems to follow Jamie and Claire, this time in the form of increasing tensions between American colonial subjects and Great Britain (the Revolutionary War is on the horizon…), conflict with Native American groups, and a despicable pirate/smuggler named Stephen Bonnet (UGH!).
Meanwhile, in the 20th Century, Roger has some news for Bree about her parents, news that motivates her to take a journey through the Stones as well… watch the full trailer below!
Ummm… that was Frank Randall’s voice at the end of the trailer… wasn’t it??? Those who have read Drums of Autumn and later books in the series will recall that Frank knew a lot more about Claire’s journey to the past than he let on, and he had an inkling that Bree might one day want to meet her biological father, too.
STARZ has released several episode and behind-the-scenes images from the upcoming season. We get to see Jamie, Claire, and their family build their new lives and make new friends (including a fellow medicine woman Claire meets and a new pet for Wee Ian), all while getting to see our favorite cast and creators have fun while filming. The countdown to November 4 is on! Team WSN will be bringing you all the Outlander Season 4 goodness, including our weekly episode reviews on our YouTube series, WSN REVIEWS! Watch our reviews from Season 3 for a refresher and to get ready for Season 4.
Season Four of “Outlander” continues the story of time-traveling 20th century doctor Claire Fraser and her 18th century Highlander husband Jamie Fraser, as they try to make a home for themselves in colonial America. As Claire and Jamie build their lives together in the rough and dangerous back country of North Carolina, they must negotiate a tenuous loyalty to the current British ruling class, despite Claire’s knowledge of the American Revolution to come. Along the way, the Frasers cross paths with notorious pirate and smuggler Stephen Bonnet in a fateful meeting that will come back to haunt the Fraser family. Meanwhile in the 20th century, things are complicated between Brianna Randall, Claire and Jamie’s daughter, and Roger Wakefield, the historian who helped Claire search for Jamie in the past. But when Roger and Brianna search for proof that Brianna’s parents reunited in the 18th century, a shocking discovery makes both of them consider following in Claire’s footsteps.
The fourth season of “Outlander” will include 13 episodes based upon “Drums of Autumn”, the fourth of the eight books in Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling series. Additionally, the series has been renewed for two more seasons, taking it through season six.
