In Outlander‘s Season 4 premiere, Jamie and Claire consider taking a piece of the American Dream for themselves. Watch a sneak peek of Sunday’s episode, “America the Beautiful.”

Sassenachs, Droughtlander is finally over! Well, the countdown continues for a little longer; but Sunday, November 4 is basically here!
We can’t wait to get back to the world of Outlander. FYI: Make sure to stay tuned for out coverage, including weekly previews (like this one), recaps, and our YouTube reviews.
Recall that at the end of Season 3, Claire and Jamie get lost in a huge storm on their way from Jamaica to Scotland and end up in Georgia. We know that Jamie’s heart and soul is in Scotland, but the new world has an appeal, too.
In “America the Beautiful” (written by Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia, directed by Julian Holmes):
Claire and Jamie cross paths with Stephen Bonnet, a charming pirate and smuggler who enlists their help. Claire illuminates Jamie on some of America’s history, leading him to wonder if it’s possible for them lay down roots in the country that will become the United States of America. (via STARZ)
You guys, if you’ve been reading my posts leading up to Season 4, you know that I’ve been dreading the day we’d cross paths with Stephen Bonnet. That day has arrived *SIGH*
Watch this clip from the upcoming episode. Jamie and Claire are traveling to North Carolina and take a little break. She describes for Jamie all the land that lies beyond and the American Dream that the future promises everyone who will come to these shores:
LOL, I love how Jamie is so literal, while Claire is attempting to be philosophical and profound. But yes, these two will likely come across lots of trees and lots of Scots in their upcoming adventures!
Friends, America in the 1760s isn’t the best place to be, certainly not as a person of color (e.g. African-American, Native American), and maybe not even as a Scot who has a long history of rebelling against the British colonial master *cough*JAMIE*cough*
