Philip Pullman’s beloved His Dark Materials trilogy is coming to BBC One and HBO with an all-star cast! Here’s a first look at the trailer and stills from season one!

You know how you were wondering what to watch after Game of Thrones? Well, here it is, His Dark Materials. This is a BBC One and HBO joint project, and we can’t wait!
This cast is stacked. We have James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Dafne Keen to name a few. If you don’t remember her, Dafne had a stellar showing in Logan. Yeah, she’s going to deliver again. Ruth Wilson is insanely talented on the drama end. Have y’all seen her in The Affair?
Then there’s James McAvoy who I’m continually impressed with. I’ll watch anything he’s in. Seriously. Finally, we have Lin-Manuel Miranda, and y’all know how I feel about him. I’m so happy for his continued success! He’s producing and starring in passion projects. P.S. Check out Fosse/Verdon on FX!
His Dark Materials takes place in an AU where universes cross over each other and the mystery deepens as the story unfolds. The first season is eight episodes long, but it’s already been renewed for a second series. You can check out the official synopsis here along with the trailer and stills.
This is going to be a good one. Keep an eye out for more updates from us!
Adapting Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, the first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children, and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets Will, a determined and courageous boy. Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living?—?and the dead?—?in their hands. {Via HBO}
His Dark Materials airs later this year on BBC One and HBO!
