His Dark Materials will premiere its second season on HBO next month! Take a look at the new trailer that was released ahead of the premiere!

His Dark Materials devastated us with the season one finale. With season two on the way, we can’t wait to see what happens next!
When we left Lyra, she had crossed over into a new world after Lord Asriel went across the bridge he’d opened. On the other side of a portal, we saw Will make his way into a new world, too.
In season two, we’ll see Lyra and Will join forces to try and save their worlds, not knowing what Lord Asriel has planned. Mrs. Coulter looks to be on Lyra’s trail, and Lee Scoresby is also tracking down Lyra with the help of a new character, John Parry, Will’s long-lost father. Finally, the witches we were introduced to in season one seem to have a much bigger role in season two as the “great war” approaches. Season two of His Dark Materials will follow the plot of the second novel in the series, The Subtle Knife.
One important note here, James McAvoy’s Lord Asriel doesn’t appear in the second book, and he won’t appear in season two of the series. There were plans for a standalone episode featuring his character, but due to the pandemic, that never happened.
Despite that loss, this second season looks so good! I want all seven episodes right now! Season two of His Dark Materials will premiere November 16 on HBO at 9/8c and its streaming site, HBO Max.
