At this point, most network TV shows have had their Fall 2014 premiere. I think TV-lovers are particularly lucky this year–not only have we gotten some awesome new series, but also several of our fave shows are back and bringing it this season. With that said, for me, Thursday night totally has the best shows. ABC’s TGiT (Thank God it’s Thursday) gives us 3 hours packed with entertaining, dramatic, scandalous, and delicious TV with Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder. On top of that, The Vampire Diaries just returned this past week, so, for now, Thursdays are my favorite day of the week.
So let’s have a chat about my top 4 fave moments from this week’s TGiT! *SPOILERS AHEAD*
1. Grey’s Anatomy–Maggie/Amelia Friendship

I love that this week we got a chance to experience Grey’s from Maggie’s POV. Basically, I’ve learned that Maggie is incredibly gracious, even though she can be a little awkward and put her foot in her mouth. She has sweet parents who have no compunctions about embarrassing her with a singing telegram at her place of work. Maggie is passionate about her patients and she’s an excellent doctor. BUT, Maggie is also very lonely. It doesn’t help that Meredith is being particularly heinous! I might not blame Mer for being suspicious about a random sister that shows up out of nowhere, but from the get-go, she’s been trying to undermine Maggie. One would think that with the way things turned out between Mer and Lexie, Mer would be a little more open-minded! In any event, I’m glad that Maggie has a new friend in Amelia Shepherd! Amelia is hilarious, AND when Maggie finds out that Chief Webber is her dad, I really think Amelia will be able to help her through the potential shock/anger.
2. Scandal–Fitzlivia!!!

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m a HUGE Fitzlivia (Olitz) shipper…HUGE! This isn’t a secret, but I need to say it so you understand why I choose to concentrate on the one time my ship is on screen, rather than the several hot scenes between Liv and Jake (*grumbles*). I know that Fitzlivia is in an awkward place. I know that she’s having wonderful sexy times with Jake and he’s trying to be a supportive husband to Mellie. But when these two are on screen, they just sizzle! The chemistry is instinctual. So I choose to focus on that–on the fingers reaching and the secret smiles. Because at the end of the day, Liv always makes Fitz better. ALWAYS.
3. How to Get Away with Murder–Wes is a lying liar who lies!

As I already mention, How to Get Away with Murder is owning me, and Viola Davis is killing it in this role. I’m especially enjoying the way we’re moving through time in the story. We’re learning more and more about these characters. I can’t wait to find out how we get to the point where Annalise’s husband is dead and her students are the ones burying his body! Apparently, Annalise is very suspicious of Sam, who may/may not have a penchant for sleeping with students. (BTW, does anyone else think something is going on between Sam and Bonnie? The looks between them are highly suspicious.!) And while I initially thought Annalise and Wes would get it on, it seems that he actually ends up with his neighbor, Rebecca! Their relationship must be pretty intense because Wes is totally willing to lie to his classmates to protect her. When Wes flips the coin and lies about it being “heads”…WOWSA! I still have no idea if I can trust any of these characters, but for now, I’m having a blast seeing the drama they get into and out of!
4. The Vampire Diaries–BAMON!

Confession time: I’m annoyed with the way things are going down in Mystic Falls. I’m annoyed with Elena taking hallucinogenic herbs to see Damon. I’m annoyed with Jeremy wasting his life away. I’m annoyed with the twin witches who won’t go away. And I’m 100% annoyed with Stefan ignoring Caroline! Things are a complete mess, and honestly, I have no idea how/when/if things will get better in the TVD world. But, for me, the best part of the premiere episode is the last 45 seconds when we find out that Bonnie and Damon live! We don’t know where or when they are, but we do know that they live in a cute cabin and share the daily paper, while eating freshly grilled vamp-pancakes 🙂 In TVD, I only really shipped Stelena, but if Bonnie and Damon keep this up, I’ll be hopping aboard that ship quick, fast, and in a hurry. And honestly, I don’t know if I want Bonnie to have to return to Mystic Falls and deal with all this foolishness. But we shall see!
