Weekends are the best for so many reasons–it’s great to have a break from work and, if I’m lucky, I’m able to take some time to lounge around. This weekend I had a chance to watch some really great TV, so of course, I have to share my fave moments with you! *SPOILERS AHEAD*
1. Survivor’s Remorse–Hilarious and heartfelt

This was the first Saturday evening in about 2 months that we didn’t have an episode of Outlander to watch…while nothing can really take its place, STARZ offered an entertaining followup with their new show Survivor’s Remorse.
“Survivor’s Remorse,” a six-episode half-hour comedy series, follows Cam Calloway played by Jessie T. Usher, a basketball phenom in his early 20’s who is suddenly thrust into the limelight after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a professional basketball team in Atlanta. Cam, along with his cousin, and confidant Reggie Vaughn, played by RonReaco Lee, move to Georgia to start Cam’s journey to success.
The two confront the challenges of carrying opportunistic family members and their strong ties to the impoverished community that they come from. Cam, Reggie, and an unforgettable group of characters wrestle with the rewards and pitfalls of stardom, love, and loyalty. (via STARZ)
I really enjoy this show! Cam and Reggie are great together, and their relationships with Cam’s Mom Cassie (Tichina Arnold), Sister M-Chuck (Erica Ash), and Uncle Julius (Mike Epps) are particularly funny. But, for me, the best part is watching Cam balance his recent success with figuring out the best way to help his family and friends who’ve been left behind in Boston. The tagline “pro money, pro problems” definitely applies. Survivor’s Remorse is a terrific combination of humor and drama, and I’m looking forward to seeing more!
STARZ has also made the first 2 episodes available for free on their YouTube channel, so check them out and come back and tell me what you think!
2. Once Upon a Time–CAPTAINSWAN!!!

Once Upon a Time is one of the best shows on television right now, and this season is taking things to a new level. I’m loving the crossover with Frozen; it’s great to learn about Elsa (Georgina Haig) and Anna (Elizabeth Lail) and their connections with our Storybrooke faves. In particular, I like seeing Emma and Elsa bond over their issues with magic. But the BEST BEST BEST thing has been all the CaptainSwan scenes! Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) is so in love with Emma (Jennifer Morrison), it’s wonderful! He’s Emma’s #1 cheerleader and partner. And when Emma is trapped behind the ice wall, seeing the concern and desperation on Hook’s face…*FEELINGS* But when Emma is freed and she falls into Hook’s arms and they embrace one another…then Hook tries to warm Emma and they hold hands with inter-twined fingers… 🙂 I need to stop here before my inner fangirl faints, but I can’t wait until Emma and Hook decide to make their relationship public!
3. Revenge–Like mother, like daughter

Sunday’s Revenge episode was just as dramatic and scandalous as I thought it would be! David Clarke (James Tupper) is back and, for some reason, he’s obsessed with Victoria (Madeleine Stowe). I’ll be honest, for David’s sake, I really want to believe that Victoria is capable of human decency and love…but she’s not. Not even a little bit. As soon as we find out that David doesn’t know Emily = Amanda and he expresses his willingness to do anything (ANYTHING) for Victoria, I knew she would ask him to kill Emily (Emily VanCamp) for her. Victoria is manipulative and selfish. When David finds out the truth, I hope she pays dearly. In any event, it seems Charlotte (Christa B. Allen), being the unstable person she is, has already taken care of Emily. But Charlotte doesn’t know that this isn’t Emily’s first rodeo. I have a good feeling that she’ll survive the fire, so both Charlotte and Victoria better watch out! Also, I really need these Clarkes to stop letting themselves be tricked by Graysons!
