A recap of Gotham, season 1, episode 6, “Arkham” and Sleepy Hollow, season 2, episode 4, “God Where I Send Thee…” both airing on FOX.
There is so much amazing TV this season and the hermit in me is excited because I can just stay in my house and consume a bunch of goodness. The Fox lineup for Mondays are Gotham at 8/7c and Sleepy Hollow at 9/8c. Yesterday, Monday, October 13, 2014, the viewers were given a real treat with these two shows. Below are my recaps for the two episodes with SPOILERS, including my favorite moments.
“Gotham”
In season 1, episode 4, “Arkham”, Carmine Falcone (John Doman) and Sal Maroni (David Zayas) are trying to viciously map out territory due to the city council voting on the future of the Arkham district. In an attempt to get the most control over the area, politicians are being murder by Richard Gladwell (Hakeem Kae-Kazim), a contract killer. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) attempt to solve the murders, as well as prevent more from happening. In the chaos, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is continuing her efforts to achieve a coup d’etat over Falcone’s crime world interests. Fish hires protege Liz, who can knock out her fellow competition in less than 10 seconds and is quite the seductress. And Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) upon his recent return to Gotham makes his move up under Maroni.
“Arkham” was action packed, but my favorite moment in the episode lasted only a few seconds, it was Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) interacting with Bullock.

Harvey Bullock: Ed, what you got?
Edward Nygma: I have a paradox for you.
Harvey Bullock: What?
Edward Nygma: Well, a paradox, Detective, is when you…
Harvey Bullock: I know what a paradox is, smart-ass.
This small, but glorious moment gives us a glimpse of what “The Riddler” will be like. Yes!!!
“Sleepy Hollow”
In season 2, episode 4, “God Where I Send Thee…“, Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Crane (Tom Mison) search for Sara Lancaster-Weiss, a missing Sleepy Hollow girl, whose family legacy is riddled with a centuries old curse that brings a new creature to town akin to the Pied Piper. In this episode we are treated to Crane’s driving skills as he tears up a parking lot in Abbie’s Jeep. We get some great action scenes where Abbie and Crane face off against the extremely sexy “The Pied Piper’ (Ryan Gray). And we witness former Captain Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) come to the sad realization that he has signed over his soul to Henry Parrish (John Noble). It was a great episode that left me a bit confused, hence the choppy recap.
Even though I was confused over certain elements there were plenty of great moments. My favorite happened before the first commercial break and was so brilliantly captured in the below GIF set found on starwinter.

“Hear me, Grace Abigail Mills, it is not our fate for one of us to bury the other. We shall be victorious or defeated together.” -‘Icabod Crane’
Crane used her full name. *DED*
