Yesterday, We So Nerdy celebrated our 1 month anniversary. w00t! It’s been truly exciting to see how an idea discussed in 2013 come to fruition. None of this could have been possible without the support from our fellow nerds. Now onto the weekly overview.
October 27
Monday Funnies started the week. Cackles were caused from Viner, Thomas Sanders who showed us how most teachers put one on blast when they fail a test, Out of the Blue, Oxford’s all-male a capella group showed us how Shakira moves her body when she sings “Hips Don’t Lie”, “Whenever, Whenever,” and “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, and finally a bit of art that perfectly meshed Ice-T and Ice Cube. Then a look back at the previous weeks TV with a recap of top TGiT TV moments from October 23, including Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Vampire Diaries.
Sneak Peeks for TV were a plenty. We got a sneak peek into Gotham episode 6 “Spirit of the Goat.” It was a dark, slow-paced episode that gave us a look into Harvey Bullock’s past and showed us that Bullock wasn’t always a lazy police officer as he tried to figure out who was killing Gotham’s first-born. In the preview for Sleepy Hollow, season 2, episode 6 “And the Abyss Gazes Back,” Ichabod tries yoga, and when all else fails, heads to the bar for a little solace. Captain Irving also tries to figure out how to get his soul back from Henry. Executive Producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci took us behind the scenes of season 2, episode 4 of The Originals, “Live and Let Die,” and discussed the chess game unfolding in on New Orleans. The preview for season 1, episode 3 of Jane The Virgin “Chapter Three” features Michael confronting Petra to find out what she knows. But when Jane overhears some of the conversation, she becomes suspicious of them both. And finally, a sneak peek into The Flash episode 4 “Going Rogue” which guest starred Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and Emily Bett Rickards, the Arrow’s Felicity Smoak. Not only did Barry Allen come up against a villain with an actual weapon that was meant to kill Barry specifically, but the knowledge of this caused major tension between Barry and the S.T.A.R. labs crew. We also got to see Barry and Felicity discussing their unrequited loves with Oliver and Iris, that ended in a sweet Barriciy kiss.
October 28
Even though Charles Dance has ended his time on Games of Thrones, we found out he is slated to star in a SyFy miniseries titled Childhood’s End (adapted from Sir Arthur C. Clarke’s novel) in 2015. Mr. Dance will play alien Overlord “Karellen” in the six-hour miniseries. It will be exciting to see this talented man take a lead in a role. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige hosted a special event in Los Angeles to announce the full slate for Marvel Studios’ Phase 3, which will include nine new films between May 2016 and May 2019. During the event, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans joined Kevin Feige on-stage to announce the official title of the third Captain America film, Captain America: Civil War and introduce Chadwick Boseman, who will play the Black Panther. And Lionsgate/Summit revealed that the The Divergent Series: Insurgent film will be released in theaters in both 2D and 3D. To celebrate the announcement, they rolled out eight new interactive 3D character posters.
October 29
Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries this season has been reminiscent of Season 1. In the sneak peek season 6, episode 5 “The World Has Turned and Left Me Here” we see carnage and mayhem as Whitmore College celebrates their Homecoming and we find out whether or not Bonnie and Damon make it back to the present Mystic Falls, VA. We also posted this newly released Avengers: Age of Ultron footage that aired during Tuesday’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. The clip starts with the Avengers having a party, and everyone is trying, but unable to lift mjolnir (Thor’s hammer). And October 29th, was the first day that you can pre-order your tickets for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, and to celebrate, Fandango also released the final film trailer.
October 30
More Marvel news is upon us, we got the announcement that on Friday, November 28, 2014, Marvel will release ‘Star-Lord’s Awesome Mix Vol. 1’ the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy on cassette tape. Recordstoreday.com will provide you a list of record stores near you selling this glorious item. We got a sneak peek at Agent Carter in the best promo seen for a TV show in a long time. Many of us will be stating, “Sometimes the best man for the job, is a woman” over and over again before the show airs on ABC in January 2015.
American Horror Story: Freak Show provided some amazing casting news with alumna Lily Rabe reprising her American Horror Story: Asylum role as nun Sister Mary Eunice and Neil Patrick Harris and David Burka being added to the glowing list of guest stars on this fantastically scary season. And we closed the day with sneak peeks of ABC’s TGiT line-up: in the Scandal preview, Abby confronted Fitz, on Liv’s behalf, about finding Jake. And in the preview for How to Get Away with Murder, Annalise went to Wes to find out what it will take for him to keep quiet about Sam’s involvement with Lila.

Halloween was upon us and many were ready to be scared. Constantine was ready to service that need, we provided a mini recap and review of the season premiere and a sneak peek into “The Darkness Beneath.” In the second episode we meet Zed Martin, who will be the female lead in this glorious show. And with the beginning of the month approaching we gave you a look at what is coming and leaving Netflix in November.
November 1
It’s November and what better way to than to start off the month with a review of Frequent Flyers, a collection of romantic stories that all center around airports and travel. We’re also giving away one ebook copy, so make sure to enter before November 6.
November 2
Sunday funday is here and you all get a sneak peek of Once Upon a Time season 4, episode 6, “Family Business,” Anna and Elsa reunite in a flashback, while in the present, Belle attempts to compel Rumple to help her find the Snow Queen. And in the previews for Revenge season 4, episode 6,”Damage,” David Clarke gets ready to reveal some shocking information in his first live interview since returning from the grave.
