Julianne Moore sits down with Good Morning America to discuss The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and gives us a new film clip.
TODAY IS THE DAY! Well, technically tomorrow is the official release date for Mockingjay Part 1, but many Tributes will be seeing the film tonight in theaters! Unfortunately, I have to wait until this weekend to see it, so I’ll be avoiding spoilers and bingeing on all the awesome official film clips and TV spots we’ve gotten so far.
In fact, this morning, Julianne Moore (President Coin) visited Good Morning America and sat down with Lara Spencer to discuss the movie. You can take a look at the full interview below. The video begins with a new clip from Mockingjay Part 1, where President Coin is trying to convince Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) to join the revolution, but Katniss is still upset about losing Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). Julianne also discusses working with Francis Lawrence to develop President Coin’s character and how she enjoyed working with Mockingjay‘s cast:

I love that Julianne got interested in The Hunger Games because her kids enjoy the series. It’s also interesting to hear about President Coin’s motivations and perceptions of Katniss. And of course, it’s still sad to think about Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s passing, but it’s great that Mockingjay can be a tribute to his awesome body of work.
Yesterday, Lionsgate also released this new TV spot, featuring critics’ rave reviews of the film:
