The TODAY Show goes behind-the-scenes of The Divergent Series: Insurgent with new cast interviews and scenes from the upcoming movie.
We’re almost two months away from the theatrical release of The Divergent Series: Insurgent, and you know that as we get closer to March, we can expect some great teasers and goodies! So far, we’ve gotten some amazing 3D posters as well as the epic official trailer that came out last month.
Earlier this morning, we got another pretty fantastic treat: the TODAY Show aired a segment featuring a behind-the-scenes tour of the Insurgent set during filming in Atlanta, Georgia this past summer. Correspondant Jenna Bush Hager interviewed Veronica Roth, Shailene Woodley (Tris Prior), Theo James (Tobias “Four” Eaton), and Ansel Elgort (Caleb Prior), and they shared their thoughts about the success of Divergent and what fans can expect from the Insurgent film.
Shai and Theo, in particular, talk about Insurgent being action-packed, but darker (especially given the civil conflict in the Faction society). All the while, we get new scenes from the upcoming film as well as a BTS look at cast members’ preparations. Check out the video below:

I love hearing about the great energy on set! And of course I agree that, even though the series is about young adults, there’s broad appeal.
What was your favorite part of TODAY’s segment? What did you think of the new fight scenes?
