Preview The Originals Season 2 mid-season premiere “Gonna Set Your Flag on Fire” with video sneak peeks. The new episode airs at 8:00pm ET/PT on Monday, Jan 19 on The CW.
Tomorrow night, The Originals is back from it’s Winter hiatus, and I couldn’t be happier! Like many of you, I spent the break re-watching season 1 and the first half of season 2 (thank goodness for Netflix, Hulu+, and OnDemand), and I find myself more in love with The Originals than ever before. The drama and deceit, romantic and familial love, and supernatural mystique all combine to make this show so fascinating. And since The CW announced The Originals will be back for a third season, you know things will continue to get even better.
When we left New Orleans back in December, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), and Baby Hope reunited in Arkansas to come up with a plan to stop Lenore/Esther (Sonja Sohn) and Mikael (Sebastian Roché) from destroying them. While there, Hayley confessed to Elijah about her plan to marry Jackson (Nathan Parsons) to help free the wolves from Esther. Unsurprisngly, Elijah encouraged Hayley to do whatever she needs to do to make New Orleans safe for Hope. And then we got some pretty hot goodbye-Haylijay sexy times session.
Meanwhile, Rebekah and Klaus travelled back to the city to execute a plan that would hopefully end with Esther’s death. With Kaleb/Kol (Daniel Sharman) and Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) help, Klaus was reunited with the white oak stake, Esther/Leonore was in transition to becoming a vampire, and Cami (Leah Pipes) was safely in her own body. However, we discovered that Rebekah’s consciousness was now trapped in a witch’s body imprisoned in the Dowager House. And Kaleb/Kol, in possession of the paragon diamond, was one step closer to getting revenge against Klaus.
In the midseason premiere episode, “Gonna Set Your Flag on Fire”:
Hayley and Jackson bring the vampires and werewolves together to consider a truce, but Vincent places a spell on the compound where they are meeting and traps the two warring sides together. Meanwhile, Rebekah becomes trapped in an insane asylum. (via TV Guide)
Take a look at these two clips from the upcoming show. In the first, Klaus welcomes Kaleb/Kol back to the family with a little gift. Though, they both still seem suspicious of one another. And in the second video, Klaus speaks to Cami about his plans to make New Orleans safe for Hope’s return by dealing with Vincent/Finn (Yusuf Gatewood):
I don’t trust Kaleb/Kol AT ALL. I’m going to need Klaus and Elijah to be proactive about finding Rebekah and freeing her. With that said, I’m very interested in seeing how Elijah’s relationship with Cami might deepen.
Make sure to tune into The CW at 8:00pm ET|PT on Monday, January 19 for the winter premiere, and join me over on twitter to live tweet while we watch!
