Time for the Boston Tea Party! Get your sneak peek into the second night of the Sons of Liberty mini-series airing tonight on HISTORY at 9PM (ET/PT).
The Boston Massacre has occurred and we are now into the second night of the scripted HISTORY mini-series Sons of Liberty. HISTORY released the official synopsis for tonight’s episode of Sons of Liberty, “The Uprising,” and it states, “despite the protests of John Hancock (Rafe Spall), the Sons of Liberty, led by Sam Adams (Ben Barnes), Paul Revere (Michael Raymond-James) and Dr. Joseph Warren (Ryan Eggold), grab their clubs and load their pistols. Determined to strike back at the British, they head to the docks to destroy 600,000 pounds of British tea. The British Parliament is enraged when it finds out about the “Tea Party.” In response to this latest act of insubordination, the king sends a new military governor to Boston: General Thomas Gage (Marton Csokas), a ruthless man who despises the colonists even though his wife, Margaret (Emily Berrington), was born in New Jersey. His instructions are to restore order by beating the colonists into submission by any means necessary. The Sons of Liberty know this means only one thing: they must unite the colonies against the British oppression. Sam and Hancock head to Philadelphia with John Adams (Henry Thomas) to meet with representatives from the other colonies at the First Continental Congress, but their pleas fall on deaf ears and the other colonies deny Massachusetts any aid. One military veteran sides with the men from Boston. His name is George Washington (Jason O’Mara), and he warns Sam of the perils of General Gage. He suggests that the Sons of Liberty start to arm themselves, train like an army and prepare for battle. Gage tries to bribe Sam, but when that doesn’t work, he makes plans to capture and hang both Sam and Hancock for treason against the king. But before he can spring his trap, Paul Revere warns his friends. The treacherous ride from Boston to Lexington makes one of the Sons of Liberty a legend.”
