Watch three deleted scenes from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, featuring Katniss/Effie, Katniss/Haymitch, and Peeta/President Snow scenes. Mockingjay Part 1 is now available in Digital HD.
As of yesterday, (February 17) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is finally available on Digital HD! As we previously reported, there are TONS of bonus features, including: the 8-part documentary, “The Mockingjay Lives: The Making of Mockingjay – Part 1?; a featurette tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman; a sneak peek of The Divergent Series: Insurgent; and several deleeted scenes.
In the lead-up to Mockingjay Part 1‘s digital release, Lionsgate shared THREE of those deleted scenes, which you can check out below.
In the first video, shared by Vulture, we see Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) getting ready to film her propos. The “make-up” team is trying to get Katniss ready, but Effie (Elizabeth Banks) is not at all pleased with the job they’re doing. She steps in and promises to make things work—for her, Katniss, and Cinna.
In the second clip (via USA Today) we get a deleted scene with Katniss confronting Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) about leaving Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) behind in the arena. But he encourages her to keep on fighting because there’s still a chance to save Peeta and save them all.
The last deleted scene was unlocked by fans on twitter yesterday (#UnlockMockingjay) and features a 3 minute scene between Peeta and President Snow (Donald Sutherland). Snow, who seems to be reminiscing about Peeta and Katniss’ time in the Games, invites Peeta to a meeting to ensure that he will help to suppress the uprisings.

WOW, these scenes are all amazing; you have to wonder why they were deleted in the first place!
