Lionsgate and international distributor Jaguar Film International Distribution each released The Divergent Series: Insurgent TV spots this weekend ahead of the 2015 Oscars. Watch both now.
One of the best and worst parts of a film’s promo is getting all the teasers and clips ahead of the theatrical release…and The Divergent Series: Insurgent is no different! Allow me to explain: I LOVE being able to get a taste of what’s to come. Especially since Insurgent is my favorite book in the Divergent series, I’m really enjoying seeing this world I envisioned in my head being translated to film. And the stunts and special effects are way bigger than I could imagine. With that said, seeing all these clips is making me super imapatient for March 20! I want to have this film in my eyes NOW!!! *sigh* But let me be honest, I’d much rather continue getting awesome sneak peeks and battle my impatience. Besides, March is just right around the corner.
Yesterday, ahead of the 2015 Academy Awards/Oscars, two Insurgent TV spots debuted. The first TV spot, “Risk Everything” (which you can watch below) aired during ABC’s Oscars red carpet pre-show, and features Jeanine (Kate Winslet) imploring members of the society to take a stand against divergence, the most major threat they face. We get scenes of Jeanine ordering someone (perhaps Eric, Jai Courtney) to find and kill “them” (Tris and Four) and Four (Theo James) begging Tris (Shailene Woodley) not to turn herself into the Erudite (like in the official clip released last week).
The second video is of the “Be Different” TV spot released by a Lionsgate international distributor, Jaguar Film International Distribution (JFID). This one also begins with Jeanine calling for the eradication of divergence. We scenes of Tris and Four with Jack Kang (Daniel Dae Kim), Four saying that it’s time to fight back; Tris being led away by soldiers with Four yelling for her; Caleb (Ansel Elgort) telling Tris that she’s the key to rescuing their civilization; and Four waking Tris up (likely from a simulation) and assuring her that he’s real:
See what I mean??? After these clips, I just want so much more! Starting this Wednesday, February 25, we’ll be able to pre-order our Insurgent tickets, so that will be an good development. And this weekend, Regal Cinemas tweeted that if moviegoers purchase their tickets online within the first 24 hours, we’ll get a free download of Divergent. *EXCITE*
