Have you wondered how Harvey and Donna first met? We find out tonight in Suits season 4 finale episode! Preview “Not Just a Pretty Face,” which airs at 10:00pm ET|PT on USA Network.
Last week’s Suits (“Intent“) was all about finding a way to SAVE DONNA (Sarah Rafferty), and quickly became clear that Harvey(Gabriel Macht), Mike (Patrick J. Adams), Rachel (Meghan Markle), and even Louis (Rick Hoffman) were willing to do whatever it took to stop whatever plans Evan Smith (guest-star Tricia Helfer) had in store for that damning video.
The episode began with Mike having a celebratory drink with whistle-blower (Joe Henderson, guest-star Michael Harney) over the Liberty Rail settlement. But now know this celebration was premature—Harvey tracked Donna down at her apartment to ask about the video of her in Liberty Rail’s file room, but she denied doing anything illegal. Afterwards, Harvey confronted Mike at home about what he knew. Harvey was prepared to drop the case…Donna was the priority and if that meant Liberty Rail got away with negligence, then so be it.
Unfortunately, Evan wasn’t willing to play ball. She was determined to see Donna and Harvey punished, and promptly turned over the video to the District Attorney. The D.A. (guest-star Chi McBride) revealed that he planned to bring felony charges (intent to commit fraud) against Donna for impersonating a federal agent. SERIOUS STUFF. I felt so bad for Donna because all she wanted to do with help the team…and she was really relying on Harvey to make things better.
So how else could Team Pearson/Specter/Litt get Evan to leave things alone?
When Mike told Joe the settlement deal wasn’t going through, Joe was incredibly disappointed. It seemed to me that Joe was much more concerned about money, especially when he told Mike he took a payout from Liberty Rail to seal the case. Mike and Rachel were eventually able to find another plaintiff in the case—the conductor who was driving the train and took the blame for the crash. But they needed more, so Harvey came to rescue. He went back to Joe and paid him to withdraw from the Liberty Rail settlement and tell the truth about Evan trying to bribe him and alter case documents. Evan was backed up against the wall and agreed to help quash the case against Donna.
Throughout the episode, Harvey made SEVERAL declarations of his affection for Donna—how the thought of her going to prison made him want to drop to his knees, openly sharing how he cared for her, that she was different than any other person. But while having a celebratory dinner at Donna’s place, Harvey expressed that he would always protect her and that Donna’s faith in him was all that mattered. And then: “you know I love you Donna” *FLAILS*
Elsewhere, Jessica (Gina Torres) was trying to determine what her professional relationship with Jeff (D.B. Woodside) would look like now that their personal relationship ended. She reached out to her sister Leah (guest-star Merle Dandridge) for help. Leah responded by encouraging Jessica to try to salvage things. She declared her love to Jeff, but sadly it wasn’t enough—Jeff resigned from Pearson/Specter/Litt 🙁
In tonight’s season finale episode, “Not Just a Pretty Face,” written by Aaron Korsh and guest-starring Neal McDonough (Sean Cahill):
When SEC investigator Sean Cahill fails to link Eric Woodall and Charles Forstman, Harvey must revisit his own uncomfortable past in order to find a way to put them away for good. (via USA Network)
Cahill needs help from Harvey in order to make his case against Woodall and Forstman; Rachel and Mike deal with their different relationships with Harvey; and Donna helps Louis with a crisis. (via IMDB)
So Sean Cahill is back and this time he and Harvey are on the same team…maybe! Take a look at these two sneak peeks from the upcoming show. In the first clip, we get a flashback scene of the first time Donna and Harvey ever met! He was in a bar celebrating a win in court and she was just as smart as sassy as we’d expect. And in the second video, Mike and Rachel are trying to figure out how to link Woodall (Zeljko Ivanek) and Forstman (Eric Roberts)—Rachel in particular wants to use this as an opportunity to impress Harvey:
