What exactly does Margaux want from Ben? Find out in a sneak peek of tonight’s Revenge, “Retaliation,” airing at 10:01pm ET|PT on ABC.
Last week’s Revenge dove right back into the Hampton’s drama, expanding upon several storylines left open since the hiatus.
“Bait” picked up with Emily (Emily VanCamp) and Ben (Brian Hallisay) in bed together and they were clearly smitten with one another. Was their relationship now official?
Elsewhere, Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) received sad news…the call about the death in the family was actually Edward Grayson, Conrad’s father. He an Victoria were quite close while he was alive, even after her divorce from Conrad. She was expecting a significant inheritance from the will and was already searching for new real estate. When meeting with the lawyer, Victoria found out that Edward had left her his dogs…and what was it. Who would get the remainder of the estate? Edward’s new wife of four months, NATALIE WATERS (Gina Torres). (And the plot got so thick!) Victoria was certain that there was a scam in the works and set about to contest Edward’s new will. Yet, in a public confrontation, Natalie vowed to protect Edward’s estate from Victoria.
Lyman (Sebastian Pigott), who was hanging about town, licking his wounds after being cut off by Louise (Elena Satine), convinced Victoria to take him on as her lawyer in exchange of 20% of the inheritance.
Married life was going well for Nolan (Gabriel Mann)and Louise—they were planning a honeymoon to Italy, but the trip was postponed when he found out Margaux (Karine Vanasse) had the video footage of Emily and Jack (Nick Wechsler) confessing to Kate Taylor’s murder. Emily and Nolan broke into LeMarchal Media headquarters (all Mission Impossible style) and, with Louise’s help, were able to trick Margaux into damaging her own files (that bracelet from Carl!!!). But a confrontation with Emily and a heartfelt discussion about parenting with Jack would not be enough to dissuade Margaux—by the end of the episode, she was using information about Ben’s ex-wife, April, to blackmail him.
Jack quit his position as a police officer, and now deciding to live a life without regrets, wanted to declare his love for Emily and let her know she had options. His intentions became firmer after reminiscing with David (James Tupper) about his childhood relationship with Emily/Amanda. Jack went to Emily and tried to convince her that they could build a life together…”it’s always been you.” *cries* But it seemed Emily didn’t want the messiness their relationship would bring.
In other developments: David and Natalie made one another’s acquaintance after bonding over a love of antiques and baseball and a strong dislike of Victoria Grayson; Louise was a little jealous of Nolan’s relationship with Emily. It didn’t seem that Louise wanted to replace Emily, as much as she wanted to be part of the superhero team.
In tonight’s episode, “Retaliation,” written by Jesse Lasky, directed by Alrick Riley, and once again guest-starring Sebastian Pigott as Lyman Ellis and Gina Torres as Natalie Waters:
THE FOURTH OF JULY LEADS TO UNPLANNED FIREWORKS FOR BOTH EMILY AND VICTORIA—Determined to flaunt her new fortune in Victoria’s face, Natalie throws a giant Fourth of July bash and invites David to be her date. Meanwhile, Margaux steps up her plans to take down anyone who stands in her way. (via ABC)
Watch this sneak peek from the upcoming show. In the clip Margaux and Officer Ben are secretly meeting. She’s blackmailing him with something about his ex-wife in exchange for information about Emily’s true identity as Amanda Clarke:
Goodness, Margaux is almost fanatical about her desire to expose Emily. Will this really make her feel better about Daniel’s death? I guess it would help clear Daniel’s name, but as Ben said, what does it matter if the people closest to her already know the truth? In any event, Emily has been playing this game since childhood and I seriously doubt Margaux will be able to best her.
I’m also really, REALLY looking forward to seeing Victoria’s reaction to Natalie and David’s friendship 🙂
