Universal Pictures announces the international DVD release dates for Fifty Shades of Grey and gives fans a sneak peek of the Blu-ray behind-the-scenes special features.
May 1 and May 8 are just around the corner, which means Fifty Shades fans will have a lot to celebrate soon! The amazing Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD combo pack includes the theatrical AND exclusive unrated versions of the film, with a never-before-seen alternate ending. In addition, there are almost 2 hours of special features. (You can get all the details HERE.) Even more exciting, Target and Walmart have already announced that they’ll each have deluxe editions of Fifty Shades of Grey, with extra goodies.
However, if you’re outside of the U.S. and Canada, don’t fret! Universal Pictures Home Entertainment just announced the international release dates for the DVD:
Earlier this week, we also got a first look at some of the bonus features we can expect on the Blu-ray!
In the first clip, EL James talks about developing Ana (Dakota Johnson) and Christian’s (Jamie Dornan) characters and how their relationship changes through the trajectory of the story. In the second clip, EL discusses why she thinks Fifty Shades of Grey has been so successful and how fans enjoy the Ana/Christian love story and get swept away by the fantasy. We also get a glimpse of the NYC screening at the Ziegfeld Theatre. And in the third video, EL, Dana Brunetti (producer), and Sam Taylor-Johnson (director) talk about the process of adapting this well-loved book to film, while maintaining all the elements that fans love:
In the series of behind-the-scenes clips below, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Max Martini talk about Taylor’s role in Ana/Christian’s relationship; Victor Rasuk discusses playing José and illustrating his crush on Ana; Marcia Gay Harden reflects on being Mama Grey; and Luke Grimes takes us inside playing Elliot Grey.
I can’t stop grinning! I’m so excited to be able to watch the full featurettes and hear more about the making of the film. Of course, I’m super curious to see what the unrated version looks like…I’m certainly expecting more heat (OOLALA 😉 )
