Victoria might be gone, but Margaux and Louise refuse to let Emily/Amanda off the hook. Watch a sneak peek of tonight’s Revenge “Aftermath”, airing at 10:01pm ET|PT on ABC.
Last week’s Revenge (“Burn”) picked up with Victoria still dealing with the fall-out from Emily/Amanda’s (Emily VanCamp) interview. The media labeled her a vindictive devil who plotted to make Emily’s life a living hell (is this really that far from the truth?). Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) was joined by Margaux (Karine Vanasse) and Louise (still not necessarily on good terms) who provided her support. Louise in particular encouraged Victoria to stop hiding. As they were leaving her apartment to go to lunch, Victoria was attacked by a masked person. She believed it was Emily, probably searching for the flash drive. Emily had already taken everything from Victoria and likely wouldn’t stop until she was dead. What would be Victoria’s next course of action?
Now that Emily had embraced her true identity, Jack (Nick Wechsler) changed Amanda’s (Margarita Levieva) gravestone to “Emily Thorne”. (This would get confusing). Emily joined Jack at the cemetery…she was nervous about what Victoria might do in retaliation for her interview, especially since she still had the flash drive with all the incriminating evidence.
Nolan (Gabriel Mann), now wife-free, was out and about, attending fashion shows and getting better acquainted with his new man-friend Tony (Josh Pence). Nolan was still on the outs with Emily/Amanda, but Tony encouraged him to reach out and try to make amends. When Nolan got home, Emily was there checking the security program to see if they could locate the drive. She was pretty taciturn and clearly still upset. Nolan apologized again…he didn’t want to lose his friend. Emily accepted his apology, complimented his suit, and left…but there was hope! That is, until Nolan intercepted a phone call between Margaux and Victoria saying that they were about to turn over the drive to the Feds. Emily planned to handle things and encouraged Nolan to attend a charity event with Tony.
The federal agent arrived to see Margaux and Victoria, but he didn’t seem to believe what they were saying. Truth be told, Victoria was pretty out of it. Margaux wanted her to turn over the evidence and Victoria did. But then the fire alarm went off…they evacuated, but by the time they got downstairs the flash drive was gone. Emily, dressed as one of the firemen, had snatched it. Victoria was PARANOID.
Emily destroyed the flash drive and now it was really over. She went to see her father. David (James Tupper) had lymphoma and was starting chemo that night…but he didn’t tell Emily/Amanda. (He likely didn’t want to ruin her optimism about the future.) With encouragement from Stevie (Gail O’Grady) and contact info for an oncologist, David planned to fight.
At the charity event, Louise showed up and completely embarrassed Nolan and Tony in front of Tony’s boss. This was an attempt to get back at Emily for taking the drive from Victoria. Nolan tried to calm her down and ultimately stopped Louise’s attempt to record come sort of confession on her phone. Tony wasn’t discouraged…he came to see Nolan that night and they affirmed their relationship 🙂
Jack planned to move with Carl to Los Angeles to be closer to Stevie. He didn’t believe Emily would ever let go of this life of secrets/vengeance. Nolan went to see Emily to encourage her to go after Jack. Sadly, Ben walked in on the conversation and heard her say that she didn’t believe she deserved Jack. Ben ended things and stormed off.
On his way to the plane Jack received a call from Emily, but he ignored it…and Emily got to the airstrip in time to see the plane take off. She missed Jack, but Mason Treadwell (Roger Bart) was there…
By the end of the episode, Margaux and Louise agreed to put their differences aside to help Victoria. But the lady in question had different plans. Victoria, in a sparkly red gown, went to Grayson manor, turned on the gas, sat in her high-back chair, and lit a fire that caused a huge explosion.
In tonight’s episode “Aftermath” written by Shannon Goss and Christopher Fife, directed by Rob Greenlea, and guest-starring Roger Bart as Mason Treadwell and Gail O’Grady as Stevie Grayson:
VICTORIA’S DRASTIC CHOICE HAS PERMANENT CONSEQUENCES FOR EMILY—As Emily sifts through the wreckage of her life, even her closest friends worry she has finally gone too far. (via ABC)
Watch a clip from the upcoming show, which shows Emily/Amanda and Nolan walking through her decimated home after the explosion. This is also spliced with another scene of Margaux and Louise reading what seems to be Victoria’s suicide note:
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but unless they’re able to identify the body as Victoria via DNA, I’m not sure that I actually believe she’s dead. This certainly wouldn’t be the first time that Victoria has faked her death…suicide note/ring isn’t particularly convincing. Thoughts?
Remember to tune into ABC at 10:01pm ET|PT for “Aftermath” and come live tweet with me as we watch!
