Hannibal returns tonight to NBC at 10/9c for its season 3 premiere. Hannibal Fannibals get ready to see what has happened now that Hannibal Lecter has evaded the FBI.
It’s been a little over a year since the season 2 finale of Hannibal aired on NBC. And like many other Hannibal Fannibals I’ve been chomping at the bit awaiting for season 3 to air. Well, we no longer need to wait because tonight the season 3 premieres at 10/9c.
Tonight Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller takes on a new journey with the Red Dragon characters that author Thomas Harris first shared with the world in 1981. We begin season 3 following Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) to Europe after he has successfully escaped FBI capture, with his psychiatrist Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) in tow. Hannibal Fannibals, Lecter and Du Maurier will be masquerading as a married couple in Italy. Oh, my! Are you ready to see what Hannibal has in store for those in Europe and for Bedelia.

Now that we been given the season 3 premiere hor d’oeuvres, let’s dive into what Bryan Fuller and Steve Lightfoot have in store for all of us with Hannibal season 3:
Hannibal is on the run, but Dr. Lecter’s old habits and opulent tastes are still on display as he settles into a new identity and life in Florence, Italy, working at the Palazzo Capponi museum. Glimpses into the past help inform his relationship with Bedelia, a pairing not clearly defined as friend or foe. Back in Virginia, Will (Hugh Dancy), Jack (Laurence Fishburne), and Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) converge toward Hannibal again, each with their own motivations to catch him once and for all, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways. Which leads to the second half of the season, where Jack implores Will to help him catch a new threat, a serial killer preying on families, known in the press as the Tooth Fairy, but self-proclaimed as The Great Red Dragon. The hunt may force Will to turn to an unwelcome source of insight—his old adversary, Hannibal. (via NBC)
