Many of us are still reeling from having to relive moments of Hannibal Season 2 that was just too much for the soul. Now on tonight’s Hannibal “Secondo” Will is still searching and moves on from Italy to venture to Lithuania.
Let me pull myself from the fetal position and attempt to discuss what occurred in Hannibal Season 3, Episode 2 “Primavera“. The episode begins with THAT MOMENT from the season 2 finale “Mizumono”, where Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) guts Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and slits the throat of Abigail (Kacey Rohl). Living through this scene was brutal, but add-on the extra sequence of more blood and visual effects so stunning that for a second you forget what you just witnessed. However, it all comes rushing back and before you can have your all the feels moment you see Will in the present recovering in the hospital and being visited by Abigail!!!
Is Abigail alive, is she a figment of Will’s imagination?! Sadly, I’m not 100% sure because with Hannibal you just never know. But if Abigail is acutally alive she might just be the luckiest and unluckiest person in the fictional universe. C’mon, if she is alive she’s had her throat slice TWICE and survived, but she is also a person who has had their throat slit TWICE! Regardless, Will is prompted to go in search for Hannibal and this takes him to Palmero, Italy where he meets up with Inspector Rinaldo Pazzi (Fortunato Cerlino). Inspector Pazzi has been pursing the killer known as “Il Mostro” and he believes this killer is Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The two combine talents in search for Hannibal and we get a brief moment where we believe that Hannibal and Will, will come face-to-face.
This meeting however didn’t take place and I wonder will Hannibal and Will reunite tonight on Hannibal, Season 3, Episode 3 “Secondo” airing on NBC at 10/9c, directed by Vincenzo Natali. In tonight’s episode, Will continues his search and meets a possible ally:
Will Graham continues his search for Hannibal Lecter, making his way to Hannibal’s childhood home in Lithuania. Once there he meets the mysterious Chiyoh (Tao Okamoto), former attendant to Hannibal’s aunt. Meanwhile, Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) arrives in Italy, hoping to find Will and intervene before tragedy strikes again, and Bedelia (Gillian Anderson) warns Hannibal against unraveling his new life.
