Lionsgate releases the first official trailer and new images for upcoming film Sicario starring Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt, and Josh Brolin.
After Sicario received rave reviews during its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival last month, today Lionsgate debuted the first official trailer. The highly-anticipated cartel thriller is directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Victor Garber:
In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman.
In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) is enlisted by an elite government task force official (Josh Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs.
Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past (Benicio Del Toro), the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
Check of the trailer below, which begins with Kate joining a CIA/FBI operation to combat cartel activity. Then all hell breaks loose:

“In this war, there are no borders between right and wrong.”
It seems to me that Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro) totally embodies this. Is he really our friend or a foe that we’ve seriously underestimated? There seems to be a general ambience of lawlessness to, which is particularly disturbing. I can’t wait to watch!
Thanks to Lionsgate, we also have a new teaser poster to share as well as three new images from the film:
Sicario opens in select theaters September 18,2015 and nationwide September 25, 2015.
