Outlander confirms several more additions to Season 2, including Laurence Dobiesz as Alex Randall, Claire Sermonne as Louise de Rohan, and Bouton.
Earlier this month, we reported that filming for Outlander‘s second season is already underway in Scotland.
As the Frasers explore their new home of France, negotiate Parisian high society, and try to prevent the onset of the Jacobite rising, we’ll see the cast of characters expand. Several new cast members have already been announced, including Robert Cavanah as Jamie’s cousin, Jared Fraser, Andrew Gower as Bonnie Prince Charlie, and Dominique Piñon(Alien: Resurrection, Amelie) as Master Raymond. (For more details, head over HERE!)
Since then, Outlander‘s official twitter account has confirmed FIVE more casting additions.
Laurence Dobiesz has been cast as Alexander Randall, Black Jack’s younger brother. When Claire and Jamie first run into Alex, his uncanny resemblence to BJR gives them quite the scare. (Those Randall family genes are STRONG!) However, Claire and Jamie quickly learn that Alex is nothing like his sadistic older brother…

Claire Sermonne will play Princess Louise de La Tour de Rohan, Prince Charles’ lover, who becomes a confidant of sorts for Claire:

TV Line broke the news (in an exclusive) that French actress Margaux Chatelier will Annalise de Marillac, one of Jamie’s old flames. In Dragonfly in Amber, we learn that when Jamie was 18, he fought his first duel over Annalise.
TV Line also shared that Marc Duret will play Monsieur Joseph Duverney, Louis XV’s Minister of Finance. As Jamie and Claire work to convince the King of France not to support the Bonnie Prince, their relationship with Monsieur Duverney becomes important.
Finally, we love our Outlander pets, so it was exciting to learn that little Bouton has been cast as well. Bouton belongs to Mother Hildegard, a nun who runs a Parisian hospital for the less fortunate. Claire eventually volunteers at the hospital and witnesses Bouton’s uncanny ability to diagnose patients:

What do you think of all the casting developments we’ve gotten so far?
With San Diego Comic-Con around the corner and STARZ confirming that Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Ron Moore, and Diana Gabaldon will attend a panel (Saturday July 11th, Ballroom 20, 4:00 – 4:45pm), you have to wonder if more casting announcements might be part of the fun (*cough*BREE and ROGER*cough*).
