They’re calling Quantico “Grey’s Academy” meets “How to Get Away with Treason”, so you know it’s going to be good! Preview the first EIGHT minutes of the premiere episode, airing at 10:00pm ET|PT on ABC.
ABC is determined to make Sunday evening TV just as dramatic and entertaining as Shondaland’s TGiT, and their new thriller Quantico will certainly achieve help them that goal.
Quantico centers on a diverse group of recruits who have arrived at the FBI Quantico Base for training. They are the best, the brightest and the most vetted, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11…
…intense, right?!
The show also has an amazing ensemble cast, including Priyanka Chopra (Alex Parrish), Josh Hopkins (Liam O’Connor), Jake McLaughlin (Ryan Booth), Aunjanue Ellis (Miranda Shaw), Johanna Braddy (Shelby Wyatt), Tate Ellington (Simon Asher), Graham Rogers (Caleb Haas), and Yasmine Al Massri as (Nimah Amin).
Over the course of the season, we flash back and forth between the future—the aftermath of a terrorist attack on Grand Central Station—and the present—a 20-week training course at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA—following the lives of seven FBI recruits. These young adults are pushed to the brink as the class is gradually whittled down, until only the finest candidates remain. In “Run” (written by Joshua Safran and directed by Marx Munden), we meet these recruits:
Haunted by questions about her late father and his mysterious career as an undercover agent, Alex Parrish joins the FBI searching for answers. Her fellow trainees include Ryan Booth (ex-military), Shelby Wyatt (an orphaned Southern belle), Eric Packer (a Mormon with a troubled past), Simon Asher (the first openly gay FBI recruit), Nimah Amin (an observant Muslim with a double life), and Caleb Haas (for whom the FBI is a family business). Their mentors at the Academy—Miranda Shaw and Liam O’Connor—have boundless experience but a complicated history with the Bureau and each other. When Alex Parrish learns that she’s been framed for the terrorist event, she has to run for her life while trying to figure out which of her former classmates is the real terrorist before they strike again. Thanks to ABC, we have the first EIGHT minutes of the premiere episode to share.
We begin in the present with Alex nine months before the future terrorist attack and she’s leaving home. Over the course of video we travel to Georgia, Utah, NYC, and Ohio meet the other Quantico classmates, all preparing to head out for training.
Alex has quite the interlude with a stranger…and her one-night/day-stand takes an interesting turn. Check it out:

Ummmm, WOW! Priyanka Chopra as Alex is blowing my mind! This character is stunning (OMG THAT HAIR!), smart as a whip, and sassy. Alex also has something to hide—she doesn’t tell her mom that she’s going to the FBI Academy, plus there’s that suspicious plastic bag she’s keeping close. But what’s more curious (and worrisome) is that every single one of the recruits we’ve met seem to have some secret double life. And we’ll be spending the rest of the season trying to ascertain exactly what they’re hiding.
What did you think of the preview?
Here’s another sneak peek from the episode where the recruits are given their first assignment, which involves learning more about a fellow classmate:
I’m beyond excited for this show! I love a good whodunnit story, and the added layers of conspiracy and government espionage makes Quantico particularly fascinating. I think I’m already hooked!
