Fox announces its Winter 2016 premiere dates and some shows are moving from their existing time slots, as well as long hiatuses are occurring for others.
Winter 2016 is rapidly approaching and we need to figure out what TV shows we will be able to continue to watch or will begin watching, and Fox is making it easy (and a bit difficult) by announcing its winter premiere dates. First, New Girl is back as of Tuesday, January 5th in a Fox night of comedy. Along for that comedic ride is Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is moving from its standard Sunday night-time slot. Another show on the move is Sleepy Hollow! No longer will it follow Bones on Thursday nights like it did this Fall, its moving to Friday as of February 5th…this might not be the end of one of our favorite shows. *tears* And while we are discussing Bones, it still hasn’t been announced when this show will return after its fall season finale.
With the shake-ups on the time slots, we do body rolls for the new shows coming to Fox. Lucifer, a new one-hour drama, based on characters from DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, the Lord of Hell, who has abandoned his throne and retires to L.A., premieres on Monday, January 25th at 9 PM ET/PT. Eye rolls or not, we are ready for Grease: Live to air on Sunday, January 31st (7:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Fox press releases state, “This first-ever live television production of “Grease” will reintroduce and reimagine some of the show’s most memorable moments, great music and timeless love story to an entirely new generation.” Yes, bring this to us!
Now you might be in your feels at the moment due to the above, but wait! Empire and Rosewood are taking three-month hiatuses and will return in March 2016! Who can stand being away from Cookie and Rosie for that long…I guess we will have to.
But let’s get to the piece of news that has us over here at We So Nerdy losing our minds, the return of The X-Files for a six-episode run!!! Beginning Sunday, January 24th at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT Fox will air The X-Files part-one season premiere and the second part will air on Monday, January 25th at 8 PM ET/PT. The Monday, 8-9 PM ET/PT time slot will hold for the remaining 4 episodes, and Gotham will have its spring return immediately following on Monday, February 29th at 8 PM ET/PT.
This is all very exiting and it’s a lot to take in…so breathe! We got you! So, without further ado here is the full Fox Winter 2016 Premiere Dates!
